I typically don't do grocery pickup, but there was $40 off $70+ pickup deal at my local grocery store for first-time orders.

Basically getting $120 of goods for $35 when you throw in the random store coupons they have online in exchange for some tracking data. But it's just dry stuff because I don't really trust other people to pick up my produce - I'd probably end up with all the bruised fruit or a moldy surprise in a package of strawberries.

I scored pork tenderloin for $1.99 CDN per pound 2 weeks ago.

This week I bought chicken legs (drumsticks) for $1.99 CDN per pound. Package had 9 good sized legs.

I also bought a 10 lb bag of potatoes for $1.44 CDN.

I am getting rich slowly. With the penny going away my grocery store is rounding down if you pay cash at the self checkout. Over 2 transactions I have saved 5 cents. Slowly but surely.

If my purchase ends in 8 I don’t know if they will round up and hit me up for 2 cents or they will continue the trend and drop my charge down to 5 thereby saving me 3 cents. We shall see.

Those are pretty common here. I got center cut chops not too long ago for under $2/lb and I can almost always get roasts for under $2/lb

What I don't understand is ground pork. The same store I get pork at the above prices has gone to nearly $3.50/lb for ground pork. Why? It's the scraps from whatever else they cut and trimmed. When they were at $1.50/lb, I'd buy almost every package they had. At $3.50, I won't buy any.

prices everywhere are making little sense. In Canada I can understand that due to numerous issues facing us but we're not alone with volatile pricing.

Kroger has spiral sliced hams on sale right now for an insanely good price. I bought two of them which is the limit per customer. I'll throw one in the freezer for later and plan on smoking the other one later this week when the temps warm up.

I got Walmart+ for $49 with the optional in-home for $50 (no compulsory tips). So far Im VERY impressed with this- i've gotten 3 deliveries and even had them pick out produce/salad and steaks and everything was wonderful quality. I'm sure this is very much YMMV depending on the store, but $100 /yr + Paramount+ to never have to step into Walmart again----I'll never pass that up....

I scored a 4 lb Pork Cottage Roll for $10 CDN. Normally, that would cost $15 or so CDN.

That will make a great dinner this weekend.
