Cawchy87, 3 things;
1) A VGA Silencer is a 3rd Party gfx card cooler by Artic Cooling. Widely regarded as the best cooler availble, bar water and phase, for Radeon cards.
2) This really should have been in the Video Forum.
3) Dont bother holding onto 3DMark scores for comparisons. After some experiance with it, you`ll come to learn that its a pretty pointless program,and only game tests count. Hence why in gfx card reviews, i only look at the bechmarks that are games, that i own, or use similar tech to a game i own.

how much of a difference does CPU make in 3dmark?

it seems to me it makes a huge difference, but i would think that when you are actually playing games 98% of the work is being done by the gpu.

~3400 at stock speeds, and a measly SEVEN POINTS away from 4000 when overclocked to Batten-Down-The-Hatches speeds using an enormous desk fan that makes my IDE cables ripple in the gale.

Athlon 3000+, 9600 Pro (the Ultimate Edition one with no fan), 1Gb DDR333.

5511. XP3200/1 GB PC3200/9800Pro...all stock. My score actually dropped 40 points from the first time I ran the system through the test. That was 5 or 6 ATI updates ago...
