Yeah, but this way we can tell if someone has a problem with their system if two similar systems are scoring much differently.

I guess you need a powerful video card and an overclocked CPU for a high score. The machine with a score over 3000 plays UT2004 and BF2 very well (although BF2 is played with a lower resolution).
The machine that scores over 1000 can still play the games but not with ideal settings.
