I got 13386 with my radeon 9700pro just now but i have a feeling im not using optimal settings yet so it could get higher 🙂

It's not just video card that matters in that score.....Also processor, RAM, etc..

Post your full specs....

Also, most people will now agree that 3dmark is useless as a benchmark, due to highly optimized 3dmark stuff in drivers......

i get 12k on a Ti4600@stock... AGOIA Y 1600+@1.74 ghz(12.5 x 139).... 256 megs mushkin high perf DDR... gigabyte 7VRXP.

EDIT: I agree 3dmark is suck. Don't waste your time "tweaking" for 3DMARKS, duh, TWEAK FOR GAMES!

Best drivers is something no one can answer FOR you.. you have to test.
Some people report low scores from what I get great scores from.

with that said, My favorite drivers are the Detonator 40.72.. they gave me a great increase in speed.. couldn't be happier with these drivers.

im currently using the catalyst drivers from atis website

two questions:

1) how can i test my drivers other than 3dmark

2) where can i find the detonater drives (sorry im a meathead, lol)

stryder try the 6193 drivers on the top right side

right click the desktop go to settings then advanced

now go to direct 3d tab set these to one notch above performance then set fsaa and aniso to lowest setting checking the application prefrence

then turn off the bottom two boxes

click apply

do the same for opengl and run your benchmarks but dont go lower or 3dmark will not run lol

now for gaming turn everything on (slide all your bars to the right in direct 3d again and uncheck all application boxes, then click apply.

There is your best settings, for gaming eye candy.

This works for me, ymmv

nm, they work...it was my router, the damn thing keeps making the internet go down, i had to restart.

anyway.... do i delte the old drivers from device manager first or overwrite them?

u can use the benchmark thingy in UT2k3, as described by Anandtech here or jus read this:

"By default the game will detect your video card and assign its internal defaults based on the capabilities of your video card to optimize the game for performance. In order to fairly compare different video cards you have to tell the engine to always use the same set of defaults which is accomplished by editing the .bat files in the X:\UT2003\Benchmark\ directory.

Add the following parameters to the statements in every one of the .bat files located in that directory:

-ini=..\\Benchmark\\Stuff\\MaxDetail.ini -userini=..\\Benchmark\\Stuff\\MaxDetailUser.ini

For example, in botmatch-antalus.bat will look like this after the additions:

..\System\ut2003 dm-antalus?spectatoronly=true?numbots=12?quickstart=true -benchmark -seconds=77 -exec=..\Benchmark\Stuff\botmatchexec.txt -ini=..\\Benchmark\\Stuff\\MaxDetail.ini -userini=..\\Benchmark\\Stuff\\MaxDetailUser.ini -nosound
Remember to do this to all of the .bat files in that directory before running Benchmark.exe. "

you can also try utmark2003

and dronez

these are both benchmarking programs

the ut2003 gives a score like madonions and allows you to choose options

the dronez is spectacular in showing off the graphics capabilities

if you dare try the dronez after upgrading to directx9 there is a big difference in the details and speed

ok using the benchmark program in unreal tournament after chaning the bat files i got 82.76 on flyby and 49.23 on botmatch using 4x anti and 16x ansio

how is that?

i'll try the other two methods now

edit: that ut2k3 test thing says i need the demo installed, i dont have the demo, i have retail

update: i dropped ansio and anti-a down to 2x each and got 120on flyby and 57 on botmatch...

are those supposed to be higher or what?

okay i tested out the two drivers and here is what i found

(2x aa and 2x ansio)

Driver from ATI website: 10483 3dmark
ut2k3: 102 flyby and 59 botmatch

Driver provided by wolf: 10681 3dmark
ut2k3 107 flyby and 59 botmatch

considering the negligible difference btween the two drivers i'm probably gonna stick with the official driver due to its bug fixes.
