Don't see any harm in the thread being there... don't post if you don't want, where's the problem?

Slag, the next Windows version due to be released is Windows AMD64 for the Athlon 64.

I was looking, a DX8.1 certified card can only run 3 tests. :( I feel defeated already.

Dude, it will be available today (supposedly 5 minutes ago). Not that I'm a big 3dFark fan, but your panties are waaay in a bunch.

Well, that is a direct copy of 3DMark2001 where a DX7 card could only run 3 out of the 4 tests, the 4th needing DX8. This time round its just that DX9 is needed for all 4, and DX8 for 3.

So, its only as annoying as its predecessor....

This is the sort of download I set up before I go to bed and wake up sometime in the morning to retreive it, and I have cable.

Yeah, but DX7 cards ran the remaining "unneccessary" tests that all the hardcore "OMG MY SKORE IS BETTAR THAN j00ZZ!!!1" wankers didn't bother to.

As long as I can run at least 75% of the tests in *total* I'm happy.

Is DX9 even out yet? My Radeon 9700 Pro is coming tommorrow, and is supposed to be fully DX9 compliant.

<wondering>

How many people are going to buy 9500/9700 cards just because of a new benchmark?

</wondering>

probably not much. if they have managed to live without those cards until now, i am sure they can live without the new benchmark.
