I know EXACTLY what you mean. Worst day of my live.......March 8th, 2005. I lost my father to liver disease. Its only been a little over a month and I still feel like it hasn't hit me. I miss him and love him so much. He was such a great guy.

Getting a call from my mom in 2 AM that my father who had been suffering from cancer is near his death, driving 100 mph from Davis to Sac to make home in time. RIP dad.

Finding out my cousin who I treated like little brother died of alcohol poisoning.

Finding out my aunt (who lost his son) passed away due to cancer.

Finding out the girl I went out with died due to a car accident.

All in 2 year time frame when I was in college.

There are two days that stand out for me.

1) Sept. 11, 2001. I had just came out of a conference call with programmers in India asking why they wanted another delay in a project that was 5 months over due.

2) October 28, 2001. Got let go from that company and have not worked in software development since.

hey it was after work hours in India and they were on a conf call with you... can't say they're slacking.
