Yesterday I replaced the window motor in my car. Today I installed a deck and Bluetooth adapter.

My hands are tore up but I feel super studly.

I replaced the heating element in my clothes dryer a while back. The damn thing is situated directly behind the drum, so I just about had to take the dryer completely apart. Never done that before and just sort of winged it the whole way through. It was a bitch, but now it gets hotter than it ever has since I've been using it.

Fixed some VTR units at the college TV station that went all screwy and somehow got stuck on autoplay. New system. That was last week. Was supposed to put new gels in the lights but people kept recruiting me to do stuff for them.

A laptop with corrupted drive sectors, registry, and operating system that overheated due to dog hair deep within the heat sink. I disassembled the laptop three times before I finally found the dog hair in the heat sink.

Very nice. That makes the effort worth it.

A FT2232H board. Apparently putting a transient voltage suppressor across the D+/D- lines interferes with high speed usb enumeration. Seemed to work fine with a low/full speed host, but with a high speed host it just fails. I guess it's the added capacitance.

i actually just had to superglue a fan back onto my radiator that i broke trying to route wires around the radiator/fan assembly in my home workstation... there's no mounting holes to install the fan (it's kind of a homebrew setup)...so superglue does the trick...

Replaced the air suspension and shocks on my ford expedition with standard coil suspension. It was a considerably bigger PITA than I expected but not having to deal with that leaky suspension is worth it.

And to answer the original question I removed the leaking windows on an old travel trailer and re caulked them.

Front brake pads and rotors on my Blazer. Was done more to replace the rotors as they were beyond the wearout point, but they did last 195K miles, so can't complain too much. The pads weren't really necessary, but since it was apart, why not.

I replaced the starter in my 2000 Nissan Maxima a few months ago.

It was the first really mechanical thing I've done on a car, so it was an interesting experience.

Fixed the throttle cable on my snowblower. As far as electronics go, I replaced the laser on my PS3.
