I blab a lot on here, but I've never shown my setup. Here is my current lair config. Wires along the wall and on the floor are to be cleaned up and hidden. That's my next project. Also going to get a second primary display and mount them both on the wall. Going to get wall mounts for the desk and mount the tabletop on them so I can get rid of the saw horses. Should be nice and rock stable once I do that.

This is where I do all my work and writing and gaming. If I'm not upstairs with my wife and kids, I'm here.

ThinkPad x260 next to my primary computer housed in a Lian-Li PCA05-B. Specs are in sig, but i7-6700, 24gb DDR4, GTX1070, 500GB EVO as primary drive. Recently upgraded.

Here she is tucked between some IKEA storage cubby thingy and a wooden crate I have tipped sideways on the end of the desk for storing computer paper/toner carts and blank file folders.

I'm trying to save that poor geranium. The other thing is a tiny baby Jade plant that will eventually become huge (super easy plant to grow. The twig sticking out is just a few sprigs of lavender for pleasant aromas.

The tiny painting is actually an acrylic on canvas my wife painted for me for one of our wedding anniversaries. It's a scene from the window of our honeymoon suite in the virgin islands. Thoughtful gift.

My battle swords: original IBM Model M. Connected to my spare machine/tweetdeck/music/streaming/TV box. Below that on the 3M keyboard tray is my daily driver, a Topre Type Heaven.

My former MCE box in a cheap Rosewill desktop case. Specs in sig, but an AMD A4 chip with just 4GB ram, 120 GB Samsung 840 SSD, onboard gfx, does a great job as a spare machine for my work. The two small HDs you see are salvaged hard drives that I will be putting in to create a 640GB windows storage space just to dump torrents and downloads-- another great task for this former machine. It has a small PCIe TV tuner card that I'm going to connect to an HD antenna and my inside coax for ClearQAM channels from Verizon (did it before when it was running Windows 7 MCE). Sadly, my old Ceton infinitv is useless and I'm going to probably sell it.

I've been futzing with my setup for a long time to finally get the ergonomics I want. The sliding keyboard tray by far was one of the wisest investments I've ever made.

Any questions? :)

The picture above is my PC/music listening space but it is a small corner of my home theater room that I am still building. Don't mind the boxes and mess as I am still putting it all together but here are a couple more pics of this room: (this pictures including the one above were taken in the last month during the construction of my Home Theater room / game room.)

We just moved into our new house last week, and finally got everything set up. This is a multipurpose room, but mostly theater/music use. Running 5.1.4 and holy shit Atmos sounds INCREDIBLE. We're looking forward to watching our movie collection again with this setup.

Now, before you comment on these two seemingly glaring problems, theyre taken care of. First, yes theres alot of windows and hard surface floor...an acoustic nightmare. Area rug is coming as well as decorative curtains on the back windows, as well as some cloth artwork on the walls. That will take care of reflections. Second, the sub. Believe it or not thats where my sub crawl determined best position is.

Even with these two issues, it already sounds incredible. Bass is not localized at all, and after running YPAO sound is crisp and clear.

edit: yes, those leather couches recline :D

Equipment list:
Yamaha 3060 receiver
i7 HTPC
Cox Contour DVR
Emotiva XPA-2 (powering front L/R)\
Emotiva XPA-200 (powering surrounds)
Salk Song3 front L/R
Salk Song RT center
Polk FXiA6 surrounds (running in dipole mode)
RSL C34E Atmos speakers
Rythmik F15HP sub
Samsung 6300 series 75" TV
14g wiring all around

All controlled with Harmony Ultimate One remote. You'll notice a few remotes on the side table...still making tweaks to the Harmony :p

My PC now exists as a HTPC. It's used mostly for PC gaming. I also use this setup for movies and streaming media. It's not all that special. Works well I suppose.

Should really replace all those blue fans for no colour fans. Or obscure from view somehow. Very distracting.

I still have the front cover from my non-air flow 750D case. I just recently switched to the air flow edition 750D. It's really not distracting.

I was thinking the same thing. I would not enjoy all those LEDs while watching TV or playing games. Even worse at night.

Other than that though it is a cool setup.

Yeah it looks like a nice setup, but I get annoyed by the damn light pointing away from me on my PS4 controller when I'm gaming.

I have some works in progress, DIY front three
Ea8DSIV.jpg

And this is my rough model for the sub Ill be building soonish, 32cuft dual ftw-21 at a 15hz tune. Sims put peak output at 125db at 15hz and 129db at 30hz without room gain.
ZYl3TKt.png

The basement room currently being insulated and drywalled right now right now which takes priority over building subs for now. Planning on a 120 to 135" AT screen with a JVC 420 (or something thats shown at cedia 2017). I have 4 atmos Volt 6 already in the ceiling and am currently in the middle of building htm 6 for my rears. Been a long year having to put up with walls bowing in and repairing them.

if you are configuring basement anyway, why not IB sub?

I just put my new tap handle on and decided to take a pano. I don't know if I ever took a final picture of the entire room once I got the panel set up before so I figured I'd share it here. My wife got me the kegerator for fathers day so that's definitely new to ATOT.
