After 183,000 miles of faithful service we knew it was about time for me to retire my old '92 Sentra since major repairs were becoming a bit more frequent, although I hate to see it go. I was originally toying with notion of getting a Mazda6, but my wife and I realized we don't need another sedan, we need a truck. Not a big one, just one to make messy Home Depot runs, and haul various odd-sized stuff when needed. But we also needed a back seat for future baby seats and little kids, so that steered us to the 4-door compacts. We were originally leaning toward a Toyota Tacoma Double Cab since we're not nuts about the Transformer-looking styling of the current Nissan Frontiers. But then we found out that the 2000 Frontier Crew Cabs had the more subtle Toyota-like styling we liked and could sometimes be had at a cost of $7,500+ less than a new Toyota. We finally tracked down one with low miles that we liked in Atlanta and picked it up yesterday.
