Not yet. Have done the entire eastern coast of Australia from Melbourne to just north of Cairns...When we go back the agenda is for Sydney, Cairns(for Great Barrier Reef again) Kakadu, Western Australia(including Coral Bay) and Tasmania...

Needless to say it'll be a crazy long and expensive trip. But since I only work 3 days a week and my wife owns her own business we should be able to swing it.

Coral Bay will rock your world.

How old are you?

I'll be 26 in May, wife will be 24 this year. Traveling was in our plans after we got married, and we wanna see these places before we have kids and while we are still young.

EDIT: I should say we have seen most of the US hence traveling to far flung places.

PM if you come to Perth. We can get a beer or something.

You are American right?

Yup American, I wont be coming for at least another year, but I'll keep that in mind. I'm actually most excited to see Perth and Tasmania. Although I admit from what I've seen so far, the Whitsunday Islands were absolutely outstanding.

That and I want some VB again. I can find most Aussie beers(generally James Boag or Coopers Pale Ale) in my area but not VB.

Well you're in luck because VB is all I drink.

I used to have this beautiful view out my back window. Then they built a mall in the field and a huge housing development on the other side of the tracks. Now all I have to look at is a giant Shopper's Drugmart sign, lit up like an xmas tree, mocking me. Killed my property value.

Not the best picture. I've got better ones on 35mm.

Yup, I know all about that. You have to move really far enough from the big cities because the cookie cutter retail operations will find you - and build a WalMart, KFC and CVS next door just to mock you.

My brother bought the one of first homes in a new development. He had a second story picture window view of large fields of corn and other crops and Estrella Mountain in Goodyear, Arizona as a backdrop. Now the fields are gone and his picture window has a nice view of the back of the next door neighbors two story home.

Duster.jpg

My ol' 1973 340 Duster. (The blemishes you see are on the photo, not the car itself.) Sold it to put a down payment on our first house.

I think that car must be a peculiarly American thing because it looks fucking hideous to me as well.

I'm not a fan of the 70s era land yachts either. Really, I'm not a fan of 70s cars at all. The 50s were the best decade for design. Always interesting, and innovative, even if sometimes ugly.

Thats a good term, it sums up the looks and I guess the handling as well.

Some 70's American muscle cars look great though, the one in Wingznut's post for instance.

The muscle cars were unique, and kind of thing all their own. It was only a few years from the late 60s to early 70s, but they were some good looking cars.
