Also, arguable one of the most overrated guitar players ever, not even close to the ranks of Hendrix or Clapton.

BLASPHEMER !

You have besmirched the good name of a favored son of the south!

Dueling pistols at ten paces is the only way to solve this

Not yet. Have done the entire eastern coast of Australia from Melbourne to just north of Cairns...When we go back the agenda is for Sydney, Cairns(for Great Barrier Reef again) Kakadu, Western Australia(including Coral Bay) and Tasmania...

Needless to say it'll be a crazy long and expensive trip. But since I only work 3 days a week and my wife owns her own business we should be able to swing it.

Coral Bay is awesome, was there 5 years ago and going back in June, Karinjini was also amazing...Tasmania was also amazing

I miss this...

I thought I was going to hate Vbulliten, but so much work has been put into it, I finally got over missing fusetalk - with one exception - handling private messages is much more cumbersome (also a "sent" box is not automatic). Fusetalk messages were streamlined, easy to manipulate and encouraged long walks down memory lane. VB is quite the exception by comparison. :'(

😵

As a guitarist, I can say with expert opinion that you don't know what you're speaking of. He melded blues, rock, jazz, and funk into a unique play style that nobody has been able to duplicate. If you can hear 5 notes of a guitarist and say "Hey! That's so and so!", then that's a great guitarist. Stevie was one of those players.

Directed @ JohnOfSheffield about his dislike of 60's vehicles for whatever reason...

Speaking on his behalf, it's not 60's Vehicles it's the ugly American ones, also my original question was directed at the words I made bold in your post. "Ricer and "Impala Wagon"

I'm not like a huge SRV fan, but there's no doubt most could ID him in two seconds of listening. IIRC, he used really thick/heavy strings for better tone. Probably made for more difficult playing as well, need some strong fingers for that.

Anyway, was flipping channels the other night and hit on a SRV + Albert King liveinstudio thing just last night. Just mesmerizing, different tones and... attitudes? but still totally bluesy. <3

I have that album. Great music on there. They aren't as different as you might think. I always heard a lot of Albert King in SRV's playing, and it was great hearing them together :^)

Don't think Perk is missing Fuse talk

He's showing PM's from Acemcmac a young forum member who was killed by a drunk driver 🙁

RIP Ace :rose:

Yeah, but Strat vs. Flying V, SRV looking like he was passing a kidney stone vs. King kicked back and smiling... all good. 🙂
