I don't have a desk anymore. I use a laptop and sit in my easy chair these days. I basically only use my comp. to check email, surf AT and triathlon forums, and play some casual games once in a while.

It's a good headset... the first one I've owned that hasn't broken in a month or two. It does have one slight issue... if I turn the volume all the way up on the in-line control, it gets all crackly and one of the earphones cuts out. But that only happens at literally max... a little below max is fine.

how do fellow female college students typically react to a guy's room with half-naked chicks on the wall?

Depends on the chick. If you are lucky she responds with "she is hot, reminds me of why I like chicks, mind if I call my g/f to join us tonght".

Nice... I have a very strong feeling your next upgrade should be a new keyboard ;)

That is an IBM-M class keyboard, nobody has ever made a keyboard that would be considered an upgrade from it.

Das Keyboard 2 may potentially be considered an upgrade.
It's got very similar key mechanisms. The "feel" is the same. This is the most important thing about a keyboard.
1.) It is USB, since PS2 connectors seem to be hard to find on new mobo's these days ... this is probably the biggest selling point.
2.) You don't have to remove the key caps to have a "blank" keyboard.
3.) it's black, more stylish than the "dirty beige" of the Model M.

Of course if you like not having blank keys, or if you don't care to change to the usb interface, and/or if you don't care about the color .... the Model M remains without a proper successor.

I'm also using an IBM Model M on my main desktop. Perhaps I'll check out the Das 2 as well... the color is the only reason, as I already have working PS2 -> USB adapters.

Taking those are Acers. should be a hinge cover (2 tabs on top 2 on the bottom about 1/8" wide each). Then two screws...no more base.

haven't seen a tv like that in a while ;)

who needs there fancy..what they call it, EH DEE TEE VEE? when you gots this!

LOL, I don't want watch TV much, all the shows I like get online, I leave the TV on for no reason (I like the background noise I guess). I had a 20" Samsung that died on me, so I am like F that I don't have much of a need to buy another TV.
A while back my neighbor was moving out, and he was going to throw that old TV away and asked me if I wanted it so I took it, it does the job (creating background noise!).

Thought about it, but why should I waste money and PC resources while the free TV is doing the Job?
BTW image looks bad in pic due to flash, but the quality on that vintage piece of equipment is sharp, even though it looks very old, but it has a remote control and connects to my cable in addition to that I use it to preview videos that I have taken with my camcorder every now and then.

However, when I get rid of it I won't be upgrading just a TV, I am considering getting rid of my 22" Samsung LCD and the TV at some point and get me a 40-50" 1080p HDTV that I can fix on the wall/desk that would do everything.
