I knew that was Vancouver the sec I saw the buildings. It was one of the first very distinguishable characteristics when we got out of the airport and toward the city. Not the best looking imo - it just looks so old-school. Why haven't they renovated?

Renovated the city? There are new buildings sprouting like weeds all over the place.

Yah we did see some new construction going on, but it looked like a lot of the existing ones were centuries old... kinda clumped together too like some 3rd-world asian country. It's just the look that was unfavorable if you ask me.

Looking at the picture is interesting.. Almost looks like CG, a few things in the picture look strange due to the lighting in the picture.

Well that's interesting. Where were you exactly? In the area I live in, there are only a few older buildings, most of it is new construction. I find this city to be extremely clean as well, compared to many of the cities I have visited around the world and in particular in North America.

Granted, there are crappy areas, but that is true for any city of certain size.

Uh... I wouldn't assume someone who uses drugs to have a veritable drug den with needles, bottles, etc lying all over the place. Sounds like an exaggerated idea of what a drug user is...

That is an IBM-M class keyboard, nobody has ever made a keyboard that would be considered an upgrade from it.

Das Keyboard 2 may potentially be considered an upgrade.
It's got very similar key mechanisms. The "feel" is the same. This is the most important thing about a keyboard.
1.) It is USB, since PS2 connectors seem to be hard to find on new mobo's these days ... this is probably the biggest selling point.
2.) You don't have to remove the key caps to have a "blank" keyboard.
3.) it's black, more stylish than the "dirty beige" of the Model M.

Of course if you like not having blank keys, or if you don't care to change to the usb interface, and/or if you don't care about the color .... the Model M remains without a proper successor.

how do fellow female college students typically react to a guy's room with half-naked chicks on the wall?

I bet the reactions would be much more funny if it were half-naked guys.
