BAHAHAHAAAAAhahahaaaa! LMAO. It amazes me that people still believe in this bullshit.

It's not a matter of proving that this particular time it's fake - it's a matter of "this has been proven to be impossible a long time ago."

This device is the equivalent of a kindergartener claiming that he can mix off the shelf chemicals from mommy's kitchen (sugar, baking soda, salt, etc.) and make gold. People who believe in this device are equivalent to people saying "well, maybe there's something about chemistry that we don't quite understand enough to know that it's impossible to make gold out of baking soda and salt." Yes, we DO know enough about chemistry to know that's impossible. And, far more than enough is known about nuclear physics to know that this cold fusion device is impossible.

I partially agree. Looking at the level of sophistication during the presentation, i am 100% skeptical. If Rossi was working with various high tech state of the art nano materials and devices, i would have given him some credit. If he would have been able to produce several milliwatts from a single milliwatt, i would have given him some credit. But he producers to much energy right away from the start. I still doubt it. But to say science knows it all is also a bit extreme. The science community knows a lot but not everything. There is still a lot to learn. That is why we have science in the first place.

Meh I honestly cannot even be bothered to read it. This cold fusion stuff is like science's version of birthers now.

A link to some academic publications on this? As opposed to articles on Wired?

As far as I can tell it's a black box device. It was not granted a patent.

Do you believe for a second the Energy Corporations would allow this?

I mean even for a fraction of a second?

A cheaper way to produce energy and sell it for the same amount of money.
Yes i think they would. They would be standing in line to buy the technology and use it massively. As long as the production costs of energy goes down and the selling price for every kWh are the same, that means a lot of profit.

Are you that clueless?

Would you honestly pay for something "at the same amount of money" that you know they are getting the power for essentially free?

If we little humans ever actually got this done it is a game changer.

And you believe that if devices like these worked as claimed that there's anything they could do about them? Often they are very simple and allegedly cheap, which means they would not be hard to produce which means any company with any semblance of resources would be able to take it on. And that's if the government didn't do it. If nothing else a different corporation would produce them. Hell if they worked, I'm pretty sure China would be producing them and taking over the world if all that was standing in the way were energy corporations.

People who believe in this shit are stupid, period.

OP, I would ask for this thread to be deleted to avoid further embarrassing yourself.

itll happen eventually, it has too. i think its a tragedy that we are so needy for energy... so many people die or have ruined lives because energy is so costly.

it either has to be a cheap easy way to harness it, or a cheap easy way to store it (and battery technology moves at a carbon dating pace!)

...I think you're being generous to cold fusion. Bigfoot is much more plausible!

honestly after the countless bigfoot documentaries ive seen, it think those animals actually do exist... rare as fuck, but there is a lot of freakin evidence that makes a lot of sense...

Can you build a nuclear reactor at home ?
That is a bit extreme...
Let me put it this way by giving an example.

A wood gasifier installation to generate electricity, can you build one yourself and that it complies to all safety specifications and regulations ? Or a device that uses solar energy to heat up water to generate electricity ? Or use that same solar device with a heat exchanger to heat up water in a storage tank for shower, central heating and dish washing ?

Theoretically i can do it. Perhaps you can do it. Some other forum members can do it. But we are in the uniques position of being geeks. We have that technical intuition that allows us to intuitively understand how something works without ever have build it our selfs. Most people are not like that. And the people who are not like that are the majority of the world. And for them, they want other people to build those E-cats(if working of course which i doubt). If somebody else has to do the work for you, it is normal you pay them.
Energy companies know this.

YOU'RE the reason Discovery and History channels are so full of this bullshit!

Seriously, stop watching my channels on TV. If proof is found, you'll find out on the news.

I found out that there are a lot of free discovery and history channel programs on youtube. Then i started watching the shows. D: Now i hate discovery channel and the history channel. It is just scripts filled with nonsense.

I did NOT say science knows it all. However, my analogy is perfect. Science DOES know with 100% (realistic) certainty that you cannot mix sodium bicarbonate together with sodium chloride and produce gold. Likewise, science DOES know that what this guy is claiming is complete bullshit. The only reason he's continued to manage to scam people out of money is that people like you only "doubt it." Our understanding of subatomic physics is far beyond the point where something like this, especially given his device, is even remotely possible. I could understand if what he was claiming was on the cutting edge of our knowledge, but it's not.

"There might be Nigerian princes. If he would have offered you a mere $100,000, I might give him some credit. But he was able to offer you too much money right away from the start. I still doubt it." Hmmmm, I didn't intend it, but there's another parallel in this past sentence - there ARE people out there who give money to the "Nigerian prince" just like there are other gullible fools who fall for Rossi's invention.

Hmm reaction of lithium and water...
To be honest, i looked around on the web and some seem to think he uses diluted hydrogen peroxide into the water to get the heat production. However i also read that Rossi is doing something with beryllium. Beryllium seems a good neutron reflector. I find that amazing, for it's low density it is capable of reflecting neutrons. But still, i am skeptical and i will remain so for reasons.

Suppose one would be able to slow down this reaction over time making it less violent but it will produce heat :

Please note that deciding to capitalize a couple of random words, such as "Energy Corporations", doesn't automatically conjore into existence some sort of evil Spector-like world dominating organization to fit into your odd world view.

In fact, the electrical utilities (both investor-owned and government-owned) are very tightly regulated and the rates they charge their customers are set for them based on their costs of production/delivery. The notion that utilities might somehow conspire to suppress low-cost production break-throughs is laughable, as is the suggestion that utilities might make huge windfall profits by deploying lower-cost generation.

You should look someplace other than regulated industries for your greedy, technology suppressing villans.

Maybe Apple? :p
