Possible to get cable TV and internet under $100/month?

I've got AT&T U-Verse for both cable and internet with the U-100 basic package for TV. I'm happy with it and the internet but money is tight and the female of the house is wondering if there is a cheaper option, specifically with Dish Network.

I'm worried that switching over is going to cost more than it will save, particularly when teaser rates end.

Ideas?

i think you'd have to go with OTA antenna and stealing Wi-Fi from your neighbor
my stinkin directv is now $105/month and POTS/DSL is $88/month
i could get a car for that

I can get 10Mbit cable internet + digital cable for $100 a month and I feel like I'm getting ripped off.

I'm too lazy to really check but I think with Cox I could get basic cable with 1 tier and basic d/l speed for less than $80.

My wife pays the bills and stuff so it's been a bit since I have reviewed the cable bill in detail, I could be living in fantasy land.

Before I cancelled my cable service two months ago, I had a Time Warner special for 10MB internet and the silver digitial package for $80/month.

But then tack on two high def STB's (one was dual tuner DVR) and my bill went to $110/month with taxes and fees..

Not in the U.S.

There are many countries you can move to and pay less than $100 and get a lot more speed too.

You can get a Verizon FIOS TV/Internet bundle for 69.99 a month. That makes 2 options in this thread so far so it seems as usual you are wrong.

Have WOW basic cable (no digital box) and I think 10Mbps net for about $75. Thinking of dropping TV as there isn't really anything on cable worth $30/month to watch.

I at $29.99 for Verizon DSL and about $30 or so for the landline. But it has no long distance carrier with it. Not needed as I can make those calls on my cell phone. I use the landline only for local calls within my calling area or for calls to toll free numbers. Landline costs are getting out of hand and one day, they will all be gone (except for business and most of them of going to VOIP services) .. Cable TV from those robbers at Cablevision is running $118 per month IO Gold package with 3 converter boxes.
In my area, FIOS is not yet available and DSL is 1.7Mbs download due to the distance from the CO (about 16K feet) .. I may switch to FIOS when it does get here.

12/1mb cable and phone are $50 month for me. If I ditched the phone it could be cheaper. Throw in a dish package for under $50.

Just having internet would cost $35 and I could ditch satellite. OTA and streaming content could work if I wanted to be cheap.

I think I pay ~$65/mo for Comcast internet and basic cable.
Yes, Comcast has a $70 pkg for new customers for their Xfinity TV and Internet bundle.

I think for former customers, they even have a special offer on their Triple Play bundle for $80 for 2 years, or something like that.

If you live in a FIOS area, Verizon has their Triple Play bundle for $85 for 1 year, or their Double Play bundle for $70 for first 6mos, $80 thereafter.

Of course, you will probably need to add on $20+ for taxes, fees and box rental for any of these packages.

I pay $70/month for Basic cable and standard Internet (12/2.5). That includes the modem lease. We have Netflix for $14/month. so ours totals to $84. yea, you don't get shit on cable other than the basics...but you don't miss it after a few weeks. In fact, it's helped us get away from the tv and save money.

edit: Comcast is the provider

After I canceled cable I started getting triple play offers from Cablevision for $70/month. Of course this doesn't include any cable boxes, which are $7/month. At that price it's pretty tempting.

Im paying $115 a month for my Dish and cable internet. My contract with Dish is up next month and Im thinking about dropping them and going with cable internet only. That would drop me down to $35 a month and the only thing I would miss would be live sports.

I dropped my landline couple years ago and don't miss it one bit since I have free Ooma. I think it will be the same with Dish programming once I bite the bullet. I already get majority of my programming from Netflix and Apple TV.

I'm in Wyandotte MI I get my cable and Internet through my city, and pay $38 for about ~80 channels of cable and $37 for 6 down/ 2 up Internet. I could get full digital cable TV for $12 more a month.
