Possible to get cable TV and internet under $100/month?

I don't see why not. I've never paid more than $100 for internet and some sort of cable TV.

Currently on a local promo:
30/5 internet
Basic, Extended, Digital, HD, Shotime (basically every channel they have)
1 DVR (I don't use it)
$50/mo 2 years guaranteed, no contract.

When that runs up I'll drop down to whatever I can get in the $65 price range.

If I dropped Dish Network I would only be paying 35 a month for basic tv and internet. I do like my Dish Network though.

Basic internet and basic cable....yes.

Fast internet and basic cable....yes (usually).


Anything with advanced cable...no (in my experience).

Depends on how the provider labels the package. Most basic packages people refer to are about 60-80 channels, includes history, discovery, espn, etc.

So $28/month gets me pretty much access to everything. Can always torrent things i can find as well.

That is all i have. Well its also hooked up to my computer so i can record shows as a DVR if i wish too as well.

There are many countries you can move to and pay less than $100 and get a lot more speed too.

Hey, I know California (Sacramento) is a bit out there when it comes to politics but its still part of the US.

I get internet (speedtest says 15/1), a DVR, cable TV, and digital phone service (500 minutes a month) for about $90 including taxes.

That being said, what kind of price you get is probably going to be location dependent.

Sadly my POTS phone costs about $30 without long distance. But the wife insists on landline 911 service.

Sure - become "friends" with your neighbor and see if they'll let you leech from their wireless connection [or maybe leech off an unsecured connection - which is rare].

Or if you don't need the power of a home desktop - go sit at one of the many places which offers free wireless [Starbucks, McDonalds, Airports, etc].

I canceled my TV service 3 months ago.

I now have 24meg uverse + OTA TV + Hulu and Netflix on rokybox. It has been more than enough.

Sometimes if you get cable internet you can hook your TV up to the cable jack in the wall and you will get TV reception.

No extra special channels, just broadcast stuff, but it's good if you get poor reception with an antenna.

Otherwise just use an antenna, costs $0 vs. $100+ and watch everything online.

I have FIOS "triple play" or whatever they call it.

I have 25/25 Fios interent, unlimited land line, and a full boat TV package that includes HD with a DVR, and all the premium cable stations including HBO, Showtime, Starz, Cinemax, Epix, IFC, Sundance, Flix et al.

For ALL this, I normally pay $94.48, which they stealth tried to raise to $98.10 last month, so I called and complained and somehow got it reduced to $89.78, which I gladly payed.

I rule. My balls are engorged with pride. The glistening sweat off them would give a lesser man the strength to get up and do what needs to be done. I have a special, wheeled cart just to carry my ego around with me.

My FIOS accomplishment is a welcoming beacon of light in a storm-tossed sea of consumer despair. Strive to emulate me. Your mother would want it this way.

Even without teaser rates, standard digital cable and 'net shouldn't be more than ~$100. Less with basic cable. At least around here with Comcast. You'll usually also have some success if you threaten to leave at the end of your teaser rates and get sent to retentions.

it's all good, I go to the USA almost every year and the dollar / euro makes everything a 40% rebate!!! I love it
