Possible to be an evolutionist without being an Agnostic/Athiest?

just because science can find the rules does not explain how the rules came to be the rules

there is no reason that science can't be right, just that instead of the universe and all of its laws being a random occurance, God perhaps created all of it, not just this earth as the bible story goes. there may be a whole more to how natural laws came to be than what man can ever learn

The poll is stupid, it assumes that religion can only exist where science is not.

However, THE ultimate goal of evolution is to explain away God, making Him unnecessary. As such, evolution is the ultimate atheism, imo.

I learned about evolution in *gasp* A CATHOLIC SCHOOL

and your poll answers choices are just horrible

what does the big bang have to do with evolution or creationists explaining where God came from for that matter

im sure god is/would be smart enough to create beings that can adapt and change to the environment as needed to survive.

Yes. What poeple basicly do is say "Well, we don't know <something>, so god is obviously behind it". Once that <something> is explained, they just retreat into another unknown.

So god will exist for as long as there something unknown, regardless of how much science progresses.

umm...how about NO. Athiests try to use evolution to explain away God, but the theory itself is benign.

I'd draw a parallel to guns and criminals, but this thread is already dangerously flammable.

A god of the gaps is not necessary for Christianity and science to be reconciled.

or 'reinterpret' that part so that it coincides with that discovery.

People can & will believe anything, regardless of evidence or proof to the contrary.

what proof to the contrary? you can't prove or disprove the existence of god, that is the point of faith!

This is a preposterous statement. I guess it may be your opinion, but it's definitely not the idea behind evolution. I'm pretty sure the ultimate goal is an understanding of how animals change over time, why they change, and what causes these changes.

Horrible outlook. I don't think the theory of evolution was brought up to discredit the theory of a deity.
