Trump desperately wants the Senate to acquit him. We also know Trump is holding back fact witnesses who know the truth. Dems can say we will not refer the trial to the Senate and let the impeachment stand. Nothing in the Constitution that says House MUST refer impeachment to Senate for trial. We will refer the impeachment to the Senate if we get 4 witnesses of our choice and you will get 4 witnesses of your choice.

Whistleblower

All the witnesses will testify under threat of arrest. Only council can ask questions that way questions are substantive and less pontificating. The whistleblower will testify remotely and their identity will be kept secret because of death threats.

If Republicans refuse Dems can harp on Republicans blocking witnesses who are closest to the President, why? Dems can also say we offered witnesses you guys bitched about for months and you refused.

If Dems hold the impeachment without trial guarentee Trump will commit more impeachable offenses.

Interesting theory, but that’ll never happen. Pelosi is only too happy to point this to the Senate and have it out of her hands. The inquiry may live on in name only (but if so she really needs to name a select committee to continue the investigation) but for all intents and purposes, the House is done with impeachment.
