Moscow Mitch has already stated he is coordinating with the White House on the trial instead of being a juror so the fix is in. I propose this hardball move by Dems...

Trump desperately wants the Senate to acquit him. We also know Trump is holding back fact witnesses who know the truth. Dems can say we will not refer the trial to the Senate and let the impeachment stand. Nothing in the Constitution that says House MUST refer impeachment to Senate for trial. We will refer the impeachment to the Senate if we get 4 witnesses of our choice and you will get 4 witnesses of your choice.

Dems will want the following...
Mulvaney
Gulliani
Pompeo
Bolton

Gop will want
Schiff
Hunter Biden
Joe Biden
Whistleblower

All the witnesses will testify under threat of arrest. Only council can ask questions that way questions are substantive and less pontificating. The whistleblower will testify remotely and their identity will be kept secret because of death threats.

If Republicans refuse Dems can harp on Republicans blocking witnesses who are closest to the President, why? Dems can also say we offered witnesses you guys bitched about for months and you refused.

If Dems hold the impeachment without trial guarentee Trump will commit more impeachable offenses.

Interesting theory, but that’ll never happen. Pelosi is only too happy to point this to the Senate and have it out of her hands. The inquiry may live on in name only (but if so she really needs to name a select committee to continue the investigation) but for all intents and purposes, the House is done with impeachment. Unless Trump commits some other egregious crime with all the evidence out in the open, we’ll never see additional Articles.

We all know Senate is going to have a sham trial even if Bolton, Mulvaney, etc, testify. So why play these stupid games? Impeach and be done with it.

Because the only was to get the truth out of this administration is to get them under oath. This would be a chance.

The issue here is that the senate trial will be a trial, with all of the rules that go along with that. No side gets to negotiate over what witnesses will be called, hearsay evidence will be curtailed, and secret witnesses will never happen.
The dems get to choose, impeach, or don't. If they choose not to send it to the senate they should have simply passed a resolution condemning Trump.

And don’t forget the jury will get to coordinate with the counsel for the defense and the defense will provide $$$ for the juries re-election. Always an important part of a fair trial

We get it... Dems should play by the rules. You want them to bring a knife to a gun fight and all that.

I feel the eternal curse of being the liberal big tent party is that you find your balls so rarely that when you do, you don't know what to do with them.

Dems shot their load even going through with the impeachment, expecting additional hard ball from them is a pie in the sky fantasy.

The pubs just brought in so much obnoxious horse shit into those hearings that you could practically hear the relief in Nadler's voice when it was out of his hands.

Why would you even trust the word of Moscow Mitch?
We all know from Day 1 that he will do everything in his power either for all to see or behind the scenes to affect the outcome!
What is really sad is that it appears that you cannot accept the word of almost every Republican.
Lastly I leave you with this -- When is a factually true statement a lie?
When the Republicans say it is a lie!!

huh.....…….let me change that for you -- Dems should play like the Republicans. Bringing a shit can of shit to a shit eating contest!!
The word TRUTH as well as FACTUAL have no meaning to the Republican party!
The hard part was watching these proceedings and wondering how all these Republicans can over and over again lie and then leave the building as if they told the truth. They have no shame it is all about Party and NOT country...

Who cares, the dog and pony show is OVER, said SCOTUS. Take a hint from Alan Dershowitz, the obstruction charge has already been blown out of the water:

The Dems reaaaaally want to lose in November 2020, this will go down in Nancy's legacy as one of the stupidest things she's ever done.

Want to "play like the Republicans"? Start appointing judges as fast Trump does. Conservatives are using your own weapons against you and Trump has already flipped multiple federal circuit appeals courts and he still has a year to go. Pulling crap like fakepeachment is only going to turn the public against you.

Also funny that you're talking about TRUTH when the Dems have fake news media completely on their side as well as ivory tower public schools and colleges indoctrinating our kids with leftist BS. If you can't win with that type of advantage then you can only look in the mirror and blame yourself.

We can go doen that path -- here lets look at how the republicans passed legislation to keep OBama from doing anything, yet now that legislation has come to bite Trump in the ass --

That means little when your party has the majority in SCOTUS. Things will just take longer.

Also, wasn't the judge confirmation process changed by Dems so that they need less votes (ie suppress the voice of the opposing party)? Lol, look how that played out. Trump is ramming them through at a record pace.

Rule XXV of the Senate Rules in Impeachment Trials provides the text
I solemnly swear (or affirm) that in all things appertaining to the trial of ____, now pending, I will do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws, so help me God.
Based on the words of Mitch McConnell already the moment he takes this oath he is in contempt of Congress.
As a result he should be placed under arrest by the sergeant at arms as soon as he completes this oath if he does no recuse himself.

This has been a long time coming for the Dems. Mitch is just the executioner, he ain't the judge.

That's ridiculous. The House majority has a Constitutional duty & a moral imperative to impeach Trump. He's gone too far & the evidence is so overwhelming that they are forced to act. Letting him skate will only encourage greater malfeasance. Anybody who can't see it that way isn't thinking straight. We'll see how well the GOP can induce such a state of mind with their bullshit. I suspect that the ability to inject much of it at the actual trial will be quite limited. In the meanwhile, they'll be laying it on thick.

LOL. Facts and Democrats are mutually exclusive. The Democrats have actually campaigned on impeaching Trump since he was elected and you are worried that Republicans will not have a fair trial in the Senate?? I hope you are here all week because that is a great comedy routine.

Senators can lie with impunity while on the Senate floor because there's nobody to bust them other than the voters & the Senate itself.
