Because the only was to get the truth out of this administration is to get them under oath. This would be a chance.
In this case not true!! Being under oath means nothing to them! They will lie anyways!

I'd deal them Adam Schiff and possibly Hunter Biden for Mulvany and Bolton. Biden is shaky but there isn't much to say. Schiff, I think, will make them look like idiots.

I honestly think getting either of the Bidens to give testimony would be a massive win for the GOP. It doesn't matter if they give great testimony or not. The Republicans in the senate will use it as a massive distraction while right-wing echo chamber will grab any semi-relevant soundbite and try to drown out all the actual impeachment talk.

TRY THIS OBSERVATION....
Democrats have limited the articles impeachment this time around just in case this senate phase fails, then Democrats retake the senate in 2020, with also retaining the house, then in 2021 introduce new articles of impeachment purposely left out of the first attempt, and then successfully impeach and remove Donald Trump before the summer of 2021.
That could be why proven collusion from the Mueller report and from payouts to Stormy Daniels was not included in this first attempt. Just maybe Democrats expect a second chance?
And who knows, maybe they’ll get it.
That's the scenario I see. Pelosi was severely restrained and disciplined about this entire matter, knowing the divisive effect it can only have on the country. They chose the most recent and egregious violations as a basis. They knew that the Mueller probe has the stain of ongoing investigation, so far leading to the release of the Inspector General's report, so why muddle things and complicate them?

A good part of the public should be energized if the Senate goes forward to act as McConnell and Graham suggest. A handful of Senate seats turning over to the Dems in 2021 would allow for additional articles of impeachment to be charged. They only need to wait until the tax return question is adjudicated, because there will likely be revelations of tax fraud and other crimes. And Trump will continue to push the boundaries of indecency. It's in his DNA. He's toxic. He's a criminal who spent his entire life walking between the raindrops of accountability.

We can cross our fingers and hope that Trump is defeated. The question in the minds of many remains about whether or not there will be further election tampering, psy-war operations and other shenanigans. If Trump is re-elected and severe indications arise that the Russians repeated their 2016 attack, we'd also best hope that they would find it easier to influence the outcome of the national presidential election, and the senatorial races -- a state-by-state determination without an electoral college -- will fall to the Dems.

There's no legitimacy in calling them to testify. They have no relevant testimony to offer. They're merely the intended victims of Trump's smear campaign.

No...legitimacy? Right and wrong? Moral character?

This is a power struggle. The ONLY thing that matters is winning it. First they will break normalcy, break honor and tradition. Then if that is not enough they will break laws. And if that is not enough, Trump said in 2016 they had a "2a solution".

Yeah, whatevs...
The Senate trial will be orderly, legal and will be presided over by a Justice. The Dems are desperately trying to find a way to derail the process and anything that does not go their way will be due to a perceived unfairness and cheating by the GOP. Got it. What a shit show.
I've definitely had questions about your mental health before, but even I don't think for an instant you can possibly believe this load of bullshit you just posted here.

I'd trade Hunter Biden for Mick Mulvaney any day. Biden doesn't know anything, Mick however?

Meh. I figure Mitch will weasel his way out of allowing the House to call Bolton & Mulvaney. If he doesn't, they'll just abide by Trump's directives until it's settled in the SCOTUS, long after the trial is over. Being summoned by the Senate is no different than being summoned by the House. Fuck you, Libtards.

McConnell needs to come out of this with the GOP looking good to Americans outside the GOP base. Dems' goal is to make that impossible. Mitch will have a helluva time doing it.

Democrats could play hardball. Cite Mulvaney, Bolton, Gulliani for contempt of Congress and then arrest them. That would force an express decision by SCOTUS because now we would have a real time constitutional crisis in play.

That would never happen, they don't have the sack for that. Regardless of which side you are on, I'd say the Republicans are winning the propaganda war just by repeating the same thing over and over, and people are tired of hearing about it in the news.

That obviously won't happen, for a lot of reasons. They'll likely just claim victimhood, assert their Fifth Amendment rights like Lois Lerner & that would be that. It's a perfect dovetail with the usual right wing persecution complex.

Remember when I suggested this in the OP? Anyone catch the post impeachment presser by Nancy. She was asked specifically when are you going to send impeachment to the Senate.

Nancy did not commit. She said, "I'll wait until I see the rules coming from the Senate.

Might be another Nostradamus moment for me
