Possible beginning of another Holocaust?

Iran is a really strange place, and I think out of all the countries in the world, it might be the one that is most culturally dissonant with the US. We don't get them and they don't get us. It seems as though Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wants to, to paraphrase Mr. Smithers, escalate from garden-variety villainy to cartoonish super-villainy.

I'm just trying to understand why 25,000 jews would choose to live in Iran.
Iran's roughly 25,000 Jews would have to sew a yellow strip of cloth on the front of their clothes, while Christians would wear red badges and Zoroastrians would be forced to wear blue cloth.

Because they are Iranian and they live normal healthy lives.

Then why have so many left over the last 50 years? I?m sure most Iranian Jews practice their religion in fear. That doesn?t sound like a ?normal and healthy life? to me.

Jews are protected inside Iran and there are numerous synagogues throughout Iran. They even have Jewish schools and Jewish zones inside Iran.

Many of the Jews left during the revolution. They were afraid they were going to be killed. This turned out not to be the case. This is why they are protected for this very reason to put an end to their fear that the Iranian regime was out to kill Jews. The revolution was all about putting an end to U.S/Israel booty kissing from the Shah. Jews were part of the group of people who gained from the Shah inside Iran.

Im not saying Jews dont face discrimination inside Iran. They are the minority and minorities always face discrimination. In every country this is the case. I'm also not saying the Iranian regime is good. They are scumbags that made one good law and a thousand bad laws after it.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I do not understand Iranian culture well at all. I guess the hatred is directed more to Israel and not Jews in general. The crap that guys spews just reminds me of something Hitler would say.

A Christian fundamentalist here in the Netherlands recently claimed that Jews were responsible for Jesus' death and therefor are no longer God's chosen people. And that because of that Hitler was right in wanting to rid the world of them to replace them with 'a new chosen people' :p

He got kicked out of his church for saying that btw and is now under criminal investigation :D

What about Bah'aiis? Do they have their own color badges? ;)

In all seriousness that is stupid and apparantly it still must be approved:
The law, which must still be approved by Iran's "Supreme Guide" Ali Khamenehi before being put into effect, also establishes special insignia to be worn by non-Muslims.
Lets see how stupid he will be...

This isn't the way I would've put it, but it is how I feel. I just can't help but think we're being conned again.

This was posted on Digg and it's accuracy is currently being investigated. I wonder how much Republican's would froth if Iran built a wall on it's border? Heh.

You know it's no wonder Republican's get so much support... For every policy they stand for there is an exact opposite action committed. They have everything covered from Freeper to Fundie. :p

The fact that Iran currently sanctiosn Jews and Christians is absolutely meaningless. Every step towards polarizing them away from muslims is one step closer to genocide. I'm not saying that there will be a genocide, but Iran needs to be closly monitored.

Why? So we can invade Iran to stop this? To protect 25000 people how many would it costs? Since when is the West the babysitter or the Middle East/Asia
