you wouldn't happen to be speaking of a T-amp would you? I hear they sound 10X better than what their price implies: http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=T-amp&btnG=Search+Froogle

I think he is talking about any seperate amp or receiver, but the Sonic T-amp is a good choice.

Link shows $129.98 now...I have a friend in NYC that's looking for some budget speakers...that would've been perfect for him.

Aargh! Well, the education about the T-Amp was nice at least. I have an unused set of the original Cambridge Ensemble speakers sitting around-I wonder if that little baby could power those?

The sonic T Amp gets nothing but 5 star reviews (googled them) , i was surprised to hear all the accolades actually. Hint: a known internet merchant has three different ways of getting it dirt cheap, or free (i'm dead serious). Anybody interested in specific details on these sonic T amp deals just PM me (trying to keep it on the down-low till some family members get their orders in, otherwise the AT effect will kill it ! I'll be up late tonite so be patient!)

Edit: The T-amp deal is long dead so PM'ing me is no longer necessary ;)
Check out Froogle or buy.com for possible T-amp deals: http://froogle.google.com/froogle?btnG=...+Froogle&q=sonic+impact+5066&scoring=p

^^ Fixed and thx for the update

Btw i've read that the Polk monitor R40's have been on sale for $69 each (normally average around $300 pair). Because of that i've decided to keep Outpost's speaker listing bookmarked, will check in every week or so for the random hot deal.

This completes my all Polk 5.1 surround sound system except for my Eosone RSP 912 sub..

Have RT7 fronts with a CS275 center and these for rear replacing a set of Techniks SB-S20s that did a prety good job considering what they cost.

Cant say enough for Polk support either. Polk took over support for Eosone and the Amp on mine went out. Sent me a new one in exchange free even though I was out of warranty.

Polks sure were a lot more expensive when I bought mine a few years back. Deals were rare.

I got a set of these a while back on a similar hot deal. They work just fine for rear surrounds if you're on a budget like me.

Good $50/pair deal.

The whole polk R series goes on sale at outpost all the time.

R30s go for $50 each
R50s go for $80 each I think.

The prices kind of vary. I think R50s were actually $50each last sale.

If you search for polk in hot deals I'm sure you'll find half a dozen threads.

etc.

So, if you think you want floorstanders vs the R15s, hold out and they'll go on sale eventually too.

No center channels go on sale it seems though.

R15s are sheilded though, so they would make a decent center channel.

Haven't heard them, but there aren't a whole lot of speakers out there for $50 a pair. These are a good bet.

People who have got them during these deals have said they like them.

R50s and R30s for $100/pair is hard to beat.

Now that the AV123 ELTs are all gone, I don't know if there is a better option for $100/pair.

Make a system with these polks, add a dayton 12" sub from partsexpress along with a cheap 6.1 receiver and you have a nice system going for cheap.

Thread updated and thx for the heads up everybody. A good $10 pricedrop.

I'm severly tempted to pick up a pair as i have a spare T-amp, and a custom built Class-T amplifier coming to me soon. Unfortunately i don't think the R15's will help them live up to their potential ;). Anybody looking to replace cheap multimedia speakers really ought to pick up a pair of these R15's and a Sonic T-amp.... For a total of $80 max for the whole shebang.

Atheanas and Infinity Primus would be my first thoughts for alternatives.

I jumped on this in my slow but sure effort to replace my Logitech Z-680s with a HT system.

Dead yet again

Did anybody purchase at the $40 price? Doublecheck how much they charged your CC since there are some that claim it was a price mistake (?)
