It's been snowing here nonstop all day. Not much on the ground. It's snowing earlier than I've ever seen it here in Oregon. I'm at about 1350 feet elevation, so we're always colder than Portland or Hillsboro.

Edit 11/19: It's snowing hard here again! The ground is white, and it doesn't look like it'll stop anytime soon. If you watch Good Day Oregon on Channel 12, Andy's been mentioning "reports of snow on Pumpkin Ridge"...that was me reporting. :)

I live in Mtn. Park in Lake Oswego (no, I'm not rich, I live in an apartment). :p It was snowing this morning when I left for work and it was snowing a bit when I went home for lunch. It's a very light snow, almost a rain/snow mix, though.

Jesus, it's 83 degrees here in Tampa, FL right now. Sounds like you're posting from another world. :) I gotta get out to the Rockies sometime and see "winter".

Actually, we were sunny and in the 70's (very unusual for late October) here like a week and a half ago, then suddenly it was snowing/rainy and very cold. It's like we went straight from summer to winter. :(

Yeah, I couldn't believe what a warm October we had. Two weeks ago it was in the upper 70s/lower 80s. Then BOOM, winter.

Yep, last week it was beautiful, then within a day or 2 we had a 18deg low!

BTW: Oregon is NOT in, or even (for those of in the Willamette Valley) near the Rockies. If you want a Rocky Mtn winter you will need to visit Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, or Idaho but NOT western Oregon.

We are due! The last major snowfall in the Albany/Corvallis area was in 1992. We had about 10" on the ground. Prior to that we had a significant (>6") snowfall at least every 5yrs. I have been saying every year for the last 5yrs that we should have some snow this winter.

Been wrong, over and over again, but, I'll say the same thing this year, we should get a decent snow fall. My 10yr old daugher has never seen more then a skiff on the ground. It is time for it.

Oh, yeah, I also live in Albany now, just moved there last year after 25yrs in in Corvallis.

None over here on the Southeast side.

There are no radar echos right now.

I hope we get snow this year. :( It's been too long. Last big snow storm we had was in 1994 IIRC. Yeah. That would be right, I was in the 8th grade. It started snowing right when Christmas Break started, and it all melted in the last few days leading up to the end of break. We were all pissed.. :p

Trust me, I remember that last snow. I was in 6th grade. And I'm 22 now... :( Oh how I miss it.

BTW, where do you live that you're at 1350ft? That's pretty high for the "Portland Metro" area.. Do you live in the West Hills?

We live on the flanks(lol..) of Mt. Scott, which rises 1000ft.. pretty far down though, we're probably at like 200ft in elevation.

I should buy an altimeter. ;)

The highest point of the West Hills is Council Crest at ~1070 ft (IIRC). I think he must be over in the Chehalems south of Hillsboro, probably around Bald Peak.

Nope, I'm at the top of Pumpkin Ridge, in north Washington County. From North Plains, you drive north/northwest about 9 miles up in the hills. Basically, the next big set of hills west of the West Hills. I'm a she, btw (I'm the poster formerly known as BigDan).
