Updated:

It's snowing hard here again! The ground is white, and it doesn't look like it'll stop anytime soon. If you watch Good Day Oregon on Channel 12, Andy's been mentioning "reports of snow on Pumpkin Ridge"...that was me reporting. :)

It took me ONE HOUR FIFTEEN MINUTES to get to work today.

Normally it's a quick 25 min bus ride.

It's cold, rainy and might start snowing soon (downtown PDX).

I lucked out this morning. I woke up to see my alarm clock's time blinking. Oh, crap, power went out in the night. I was 20 minutes late getting my kid up, but when I woke him, he was way too sick to go to school. So...didn't have to worry about missing the bus, and won't have to worry for at least the rest of the week. Same nasty cold my daughter's had for a week. Poor kids won't be able to enjoy the first real snow of the season. At least my current preoccupation is drywalling and painting inside. With wood heat, I can finish at leisure.

Andy Carson's saying it was 56 deg F at 3am, dropped to 40 deg F by about 7am. Cool.

I love snow.

I wish it would keep snowing, temp drops to around 34 deg F and stays there through Sunday.

Les Schwab will have cars lined up around the block!

Husband took the F-150 4wd to work today (normally my car), got chains last year, and has a tow rope. He might need it today to drag people out of the ditch.

Woohoo, snow this weekend!! :D

I just knew this was going to be good winter, especially after all those weak ones the past few years.

And can someone tell me why people line up at Les Schwabs for snow tires when they don't know how to drive in the snow anyway? And the snow will be lucky to last more than a day?
Jeez, just stay home... God knows this town shuts down for a dusting... :p

I was just joking about my Les Schwab comment but it's totally true.

Once the first snowflake falls, idiot Oregonians (most ATOT'ers not included) are lined up around the block.

Schools get closed.

Panic ensues.

Come on people it's only an inch or so, just drive carefully and use your noggin'.

Or we can all borrow a certain someone's Subaru with all wheel drive :)

What pisses me off even more is people who use studded tires all freakin' winter in Portland. :| With our moderate climate, there are like 2 days a year where you need the things unless you live at a higher elevation. Meanwhile, our highways get torn up for no reason.

Weren't studded tires banned recently?

Damn taxes keep going up, meanwhile I still have roads unpaved !!!

<--- should move to a new westside development but then I would succumb to the dark side. Eli would be one of the few remaining Portland east siders. How could I leave him stranded?

Well, it's snowing again today. Really hard.

RossMAN: just move far enough West so you by-pass the dark side...

Not a flurry in sight here in downtown Portland. Not even rain.

There is a possibility we'll be house shopping in the Hillsboro/Aloha area in the future :)

Just sell half of your digicam collection. That should net you about $20,000 towards a downpayment.

If only Kodak digicams weren't such a POS, I could maybe swing that ... NOT!

PAB probably could but not I.
