Amazon has the beat deal going on currently, $5 off the game plus $20 Amazon credit.

Best Buy is $10 cheaper.

Console versions

Amazon $55-$20 credit=$35

Best Buy $45-$10 gift card- $10 gamer reward= $25. (plus tax)

Amazon credit is more useful, but I've read that it's possible to use Best Buy gift cards to buy Amazon Kindle gift cards, but I dont know for sure.

Does anyone know if the PS3 version comes with the PC version of Portal 1? I know it comes with the PC version of 2 but the Steam version comes with 2 and a giftable copy of 1.

ign had me tricked. I had april 19th in my head for a while, but then I saw ign said the 21st, so I trusted that. I just saw that amazon shipped and is going to be delivered tomorrow, and steam says it's released tomorrow. wooooo. but shit, I just told my gf I'd go to her place after work..

Video games are almost always released on Tuesday.

Damn I was busy all weekend. Oh well....

Every review so far has been awesome. Only bad things are replayability since you play the puzzles once and that's it which is obvious and the puzzles are easier than the first.

Hopefully co-op and mods keep the game going. As the PS3 will also get mod support which is awesome too.

Co-Op mode is a different than SP but nothing changes from each play through of each so no real reason to play it over if you've played co-op already. Several reviews I've read say to make sure to play co-op with someone who hasn't played co-op before because it'll ruin the experience for both of you.

Pretty cool. I played it real quick. Load times are short. Game plays nice. Had to crank up the sensitivity as I do with all shooters. Downloading it on the PC as well.

I hope that Steam is offered as an app on the PS3.

I really like being able to relax on the couch and play on my big screen then have the option to play on PC.

I really hope Valve furthers Steam on the PS3.

They seemed to have done a good job on the PS3 port.

Wonder if either the Orange box on the PS3 will get an update or if they do make a Steam app on the PS3 & port all Valve games on the PS3?

I'm good with the PS3 controller and Keyboard & Mouse. So well see....

Also there is a cash shop for day one DLC?? 🙁

Why are people crying about this so much? It's like skins is all... it's not gameplay or anything. Team Fortress 2 has had a game shop like this for a while now, so this isn't a new thing for Valve at all.

People always have to bitch about something don't they? Don't buy extra shit if you don't want to. Simple

so it's a seperate code for the pc download? do you NEED to link the ps3 version to steam?

Yes. Steam will refuse to unlock your game until you log in to steam via the PS3 first and then put the key in on the computer. After that I don't think anything would stop you from selling the PS3 copy.

I just got in my copy right now and yes you need to do it on PS3 first to get PC copy.

I tried to activate without linking, and if you do that, Steam will actually display an error telling you what to do. Interestingly enough, it made it sound like you need to have Portal currently running on the PS3 when you activate the code on the PC.

you do. I tried to get the pc copy without loading the ps3 version first and it doesn't let you. but playing the ps3 version without activating the pc version, I assume, would work.

anyone having cloud problems? I started playing on the ps3 while I was downloading the PC version and I can't get my progress on the PC.

They said saves are not compatible across systems. That was explained a little while ago.
