The only time a car to have inferior numbers and still turn better lap times is if there is an inferior driver in the superior car, and he doesn't push it to its limit.
You seem to have a completely biased blind enthusiasm towards Porsches. Admit it, you're just a Porsche zealot aren't you?
What kind of Porsche do you own?

Here is my take on you:
As I stated before, it seems to me that you're a young guy, probably around college age. The reason I say this is because in my experience with other young people around your age, they seem to have a very strong devotion to your cause, whatever that cause is. Often it is misguided. Late teens/early twenties is a tumultuous time, and emotions run high. People around that age tend to be very opinionated, and very vocal about their views.
The fact that you seem to want to prove that numbers can be defeated tells me that you want to break the mold... you don't want to feel confined by definition. You're trying to defeat your own insecurity. You're probably a lot more artistic than scientific, and as such it wouldn't surprise me if you are an emotional, sometimes depressed guy.
I've always had problems getting along with people like this. I'm scientific, I throw my biases away and trust the numbers. It's a shame that you feel threatened by that.
I don't expect you to say "yeah, you're right." I expect you to argue and attempt to dispel the obvious, as any other kid would.

If I had any sort of compelling rationale for my age being relevant, I would be happy to tell you. It's no secret though, it's easily found out through my other posts.
You have still not answered the question of what you drive. You know which two Porsches I drive so that shouldn't be holding you back.

I assure you, this is the first time in my entire life that I have ever been called "artistic". It would perhaps surprise you that I am a moderate Republican with heavy free-market leanings and that my typical attire is a freshly-pressed button down shirt which I keep tucked into my freshly-pressed trousers. My best subjects were always things such at Math and Physics and I have an uncanny knack for understanding the workings of machinery at a glance. I scoff at modern "art" (a painting ought to look like its subject) and I have very little regard for the popular "causes" that so many liberals espose today. In general, I try to keep up with what I learned from Dale Carnagie's books.
In short, those who know me would find your assertion that I am "artistic" to be highly humerous, as I myself find it.

Since you have been so kind as to analyse me, I shall give you my impression of your persona. Whether the persona which you are projecting here is the true you or not is something that I cannot claim to know.
You are someone who has never had the ability to use the so-called "right hemisphere" of his brain, and you feel yourself to be superior to others because of this. You fancy yourself to be free of emotions, yet you need to feed your ego with constant reminders that you are superior to others because you aren't hampered by emotions. You were probably picked on as a child because you were mentally advanced for your age and as a result you are insecure about your own abilities, turning instead to raw numbers which cannot be deceptive. You are (currently at least) incapable of realising that raw data, while free from deceptiveness, is also useless and that all data need to be processed before they convey useful information. You are probably a poor at sports requiring physical prowess and so you have become interested in those sports which do not seem to require top physical conditioning. You are likely either atheist or agnostic and you probably have worn a pocket-protector at some point in your life.
At least, as I said, that seems to be the persona that you are putting forth. Whether or not this is the real you I cannot begin to fathom.

Some of what you said was pretty close, some was not.
You're right that I'm not religious... the notion of religion seems irrational and doesn't answer any questions for me, it only breaks things down to a lower common denominator (god). I've never worn a pocket protector. I was actually good at sports, and played tennis and football in HS. But I never fit in with the "jock" crowd. I go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week and I'm in pretty good physical condition. I was in special classes from 2nd grade to senior year in high school (acedemically talented program, put there due to my CAT test scores, 98-99th percentile). Both my sister and I had the highest test scores in our classes, so I guess it runs in my family (She was also valedictorian of her class). I hated school, never liked sitting in class, got bored too soon. I do understand that raw data is meaningless, but I find that others will not find sense in the data even after I have found the relevance. However, I have learned to trust my instincts, since in my past experience going with my instinct has earned me better results (in situations where my answers were referenced against known answers) even though the majority of the people disagreed with me (but if they always agreed with me, they wouldn't be in the ~50% while I'm in the 98-99th). I've noticed that some people have a gift for wording, and can sugar coat everything and make it sounds believable, but in my experience going with what *I* think is right gets me the best results, even if I don't explain my position very well. I've never put too much emphasis on wording, the point is what matters to me. And the right hemisphere of my brain works just fine.
So I guess to sum it up, I'll say this- I hate disagreeing with people as I find it stressful, but I'm only cheating myself if I give in and agree. I have a rather pessimistic view of the world as I've found that in general, comprimising with people leads to worse results than if I ignored them and went with what I believed was right. And I also have a sick, dry sense of humor that not many people get. It usually ends up offending them.

A painting ought to look like what the artist wants it to look like. There are more things in the universe than objects. There more things in our minds than what is in the universe.
And I don't know how the hell "modern" became associated with abstract art.... for Christ's sake, is education that hard to come by??

I do not claim to be one of them, but I certainly believe that the position I am promoting is the same as their position.
Be that as it may, since I obviously have to be impressed with your 98th-99th percentile scores on a California test (considering that my scores in the same percentile region of the ACT are obviously meaningless) I will give up and bow down before your high levels of smartness [sic]. 😉

Oh for pete's sake people! I didn't mean to start an art war here. Art is in the eye of the beholder and I consider it a glaring FAULT of MINE that I cannot find beauty in abstract/modern art. My only point in mentioning that was an illustration of the fact that I am about as far from "artistic" as a person can get.

I must say that I find your style of creating condescending and patronizing posts quite annoying. It takes more than a silly face at the end of your posts to change the meaning.
If I was talking to a world class driver I'd choose to believe him because I trust his word. Talking with you gives me no such sense of trust.
If there is one reason why I've been so harsh to you it is because of the tone of your posts. Some people are able to get their point across without seeming inflammatory, while yours have a condescending, passive-aggressive tone to them.
While I cannot stop you from doing this, I will tell you that this type of behavior doesn't lend itself to drawing respect from people. I've been in some heated debates with people that I'm able to respect, while the argument with you is not so heated, yet less respectful. Your little cheapshots do nothing to forward your cause, and only further degrades respect.

Congratulations on picking up on obvious sarcasm. In my defense, I can only say that I have been replying in kind. Were I to percieve your posts as anything above inflamatory rhetoric, I should be most glad to elevate the level of my responses. I find it humourous that you are able to load your posts with so many pejorative terms when describing either myself or my ideas, and yet you cry foul when I counter like with like. Now, to top it all off, you are threatening not to like me. Oh no, whatever shall I do! Someone might not like me! Oh heaven save me, I just want to be liked! I should just abandon my instincts and experiences and fall at your feet lest you take a dislike to me.
Anyway, I must be off now. I do not believe that I shall reply to this thread again. While I am sure that you will have some sort of remark whereby you claim that my absence proves that I cannot refute your claims, I am confident that those in the forums who know me will judge my conduct fairly. This has certainly not been my finest hour, but I do not believe that I shall be judged harshly.
