Chicken & fish are like red headed step children.

Pork is far more versatile (all cured meats, sausages, etc). But 'steak-ability' of beef is insurmountable.

Steaks and hamburgers, there is no replacement for beef. However lots of people think you can replace pork, all beef hot dogs suck imo.

Pork, and since muslims and jews won't eat it, that takes away some of my competition for resources. There's more muslims and jews than hindus.

If I had to choose one to eat for the rest of my life with no other foods available, I'd choose pork.

If I got to vary my diet on a normal basis, I'd choose beef.

As much as I love beef, I'd go with pork for versatility and variety. Gimme ribs and shoulder and bacon, sausages, ham and double-thick chops. All yum

I could live without steaks, what I'd miss most from beef would be burgers.

Beef is a luxury.
I find it hard to chose between bacon and fried chicken tho.

I love them both, but every part of pig is amazing, while the same can't be said for cow.

Beef for sure. Can't beat burgers or a steak.

Not too fond of pork personally tho.

30+ years ago I would have said beef, but now with the horrible beef this country produces I have to go with pork.

We have pretty amazing beef but I'm going with pork since it's far more versatile.

Clearly you have never had amazing quality sushi. Completely disagree about fish.

What? Cows are slaughtered and processed the same way as a pig and have the same organs and muscle groups. Historically, every part of the cow was also used.

The pork is not much better compared to pork I have had in Europe or pork from "heritage" pig breeds. There is such a stigma against fat in this country especially pork fat that pigs were bred to be as lean as possible. Shoe leather pork chops are the result. In Italy, my uncle slaughtered a pig and the chops that he cut from it were fatty and well marbled. You could cook them like steaks on a grill and they were overflowing with juices. Pork chops in this country pale in comparison; they need brining and careful grilling to not overcook them lest they dry out.

Disagree about chicken and fish. I really wish there were more vegetarian options here and that they were peddled as much as meat ones, too.

When they get "lab meat" going and at a decent price, I'll never eat a slaughtered animal again.

I'll take *good* vegetarian over meat any time. That's one reason I like Indian food as much as I do. Good vegetarian options.

Yessssssss. Paneer curries are wonderful, good dhals also. And the Middle East has falafel, which I could probably wean off meat with. It's just that between two jobs and all else I'm dealing with I have so little time to cook.

Best Falafels I've had were next to MIT on the Charles river side...that was a long time ago though.

Best falafel I've had was lot food outside a Dead show, but I suppose circumstances made them taste better. Man, I miss the parking lot scene. Good people, and great boutique commerce.

Beef. Gotta love steak, burgers, pasta with meat sauce, braised brisket and meatloaf.

I do like a lot of pork dishes but most require a smoker and cooking it low and slow. So beef wins for convenience.
