I said beef, but I can't imagine a world without bacon, so it has to be both.
I think internet's fascination with bacon is overrated. Yes they're delicious, but I get sick of it too quickly.

I can live without bacon just fine. I can't say the same for steak or burgers.

My appreciation for bacon far preceded the birth of AoL, so while I nodded with appreciation at all the memes, the love is real, man!

That said, with my back to the wall, if either cows or pigs had to go extinct... bye bye, bacon.

Clearly you have never had amazing quality sushi. Completely disagree about fish.

What? Cows are slaughtered and processed the same way as a pig and have the same organs and muscle groups. Historically, every part of the cow was also used.

The pork is not much better compared to pork I have had in Europe or pork from "heritage" pig breeds. There is such a stigma against fat in this country especially pork fat that pigs were bred to be as lean as possible. Shoe leather pork chops are the result. In Italy, my uncle slaughtered a pig and the chops that he cut from it were fatty and well marbled. You could cook them like steaks on a grill and they were overflowing with juices. Pork chops in this country pale in comparison; they need brining and careful grilling to not overcook them lest they dry out.

Agree, pork chops are dried out as fuck unless cooked carefully.

Eating animal fat is fine, it's eating tons of sugar (unfortunately used in a lot of pork dishes) that's unhealthy.

They are both great so I guess boils down to which animal has the better organ meats...

When I was in South Korea I ate mostly pork. Beef is very difficult to purchase so it should tell you that beef is more superior. At least in Asia.

Pork is considered a dirty animal.
