My cosmetic sales lady has a computer issue, everytime she logs onto the web she's hit with a cascade of never ending popup's.What application am I going to be looking for in order to uninstall this nuisance? She said she say a program named "ad destroyer" that she didn't install could this be the culprit?

Firefox has a built in popup killer that works great. Make sure she doesnt have any spyware too (install and run Adaware and/or Spybot)

spyware = clean the spyware before getting a popup blocker

adaware is one of many programs that are free and will work

I have been using firefox and mozilla for sometime now, i havent had a pop up since i used ie...

I ran adaware and spybot virus scanned, this system was infected with 14 different trojans and virus.

The remaining problem is Search.exe,I can't get rid of it,perhaps if I run hijack this and post the log file some kind soul will tell me what registry edits I'm missing here.

Try booting in safe mode and try again.

I'm finally done! I've seen some sick systems before but this one was the very worst I've ever seen.

Thank you guys for all the help, some of this spyware really ought to be classified as virus!

adaware alone solved the problem with 1 user that had popup problems. she initially found it odd she was getting *ahem* popups of snakes.. a co-worker had to clue her in.. lol. 😛
