there is no better advertisement blocking program than Admuncher. period.

I dont even use windows anymore, I refuse to.. but there was nothing in linux that comes close to being as good as admuncher. So what do I do ? setup an always-on virtual machine using VMware running the background on my server, running XP, Admuncher and Winproxy ONLY for the purpose of filtering all my web browser http traffic thru Admuncher

super freaking fast, tiny, written in x86 assembler, powerful, clean, and blocks ALL ads not just pop ups. (Banners, button ads, flash ads, text ads, I haven't seen a web advertisement in years)


also it blocks many other annoying things... try the 30 day trial, if anyone knows me they know I do not normally pay for software (arrr matey) but I would pay double what they ask for for admuncher

 
In addition to removing the spyware, a good hosts file helps a lot. I rarely get bothered with pop-ups.. not to the point that I even notice them any more.
