I'd love to experience the Schadenfreude on this one, but I expect he will just find a a more ignoble publisher and they will add crap like: "Read the book, they tried to censor!".

"As a publisher it will always be our mission to amplify a variety of voices and viewpoints: at the same time we take seriously our larger public responsibility as citizens, and cannot support Senator Hawley after his role in what became a dangerous threat to our democracy and freedom."

Hawley in a statement responded to Simon & Schuster's decision by calling the move "Orwellian" and a "direct assault on the First Amendment" — even though as a graduate of Yale Law School he likely knows the First Amendment is about government restricting free speech and not forcing a private company to publish his work.

"Only approved speech can now be published," Hawley lamented. "This is the Left looking to cancel everyone they don't approve of. I will fight this cancel culture with everything I have. We'll see you in court."

Yale should take back Hawley's law degree, as he obviously failed to learn the law during his time there.
But at the same time, his statement does represent well the Trumper mentality that their 'freedom' requires that they be able to overthrow democracy and the rule of law, and to force others to their will, or else they're oppressed victims.

But seriously, the fucking audacity of a United States Senator claiming that a private company could ever silence his speech.. when he has free access to all the publishing powers of the United States govt at his disposal.. some people's noses are unbloodied only because it is illegal to bloody them.

He will probably be on Fox promoting the book, to the cult audience, that will buy it because Hannity tells them to, and never read it, because if they actually read books, they wouldn't be in the Fox cult.

Yep. That's why I posted (I think in some other thread?) about how the book cancellation likely was going to save Hawley a shitload of money, wherein he could just dump it in e-Book and get probably more legit sales, while it boosting his rep with right wingers.
 
Given his past approach, I'm only half-surprised Hawley didn't demand a new law forcing book publishers to carry titles against their will.
 
Get rid of the Hose of Lords, increase representation in the House to at least double the number of representatives.
