WHAT ABOUT THE CAMRY?????????????????????????????????????????????????

Old man's car. Perfect for my parents; painful for me to drive.

and I definitely agree with NFS tho I'm not sure if I trust the design of the Mazdaspeed6.

*sigh* why is everyone always beatin up on my MS6.... I love that car... I havent seen anything anywhere close to the problem I've seen mentioned. *sigh* Hurts my feelings :(

Yes I've read that a thousand times, I've read articles on it, and yet I don't see this being described as a wide spread problem... furthermore, I OWN a MS6, and I havent experienced any powerloss of any kind....

i calculated all the resale values... they take a nosedive just as bad as the G6 GTP does

actually, the G6 GTP takes a smaller "monetary" nose dive than the rest.

This cannot be, we all know Japanese cars are better in every aspect.

One day I'll figure out the subtle difference between my plastic interior is less plasticy than your plastic interior. Even though I've never put the interior of a car as even in my top five reasons to buy a car.

I didn't say my Legacy was perfect either. There are some issues that some people are having. Luckily I haven't experienced any of them in my car or the other car I test drove. However, I will say the problems I read about Legacys are far more minor that the reports of major power loss while driving in MS6.

While i was there, i had driven an 04 grand prix gtp, and an 03 maxima. While the power was ready in the maxima when i wanted it, it took a bit for the power to get to the wheels in the pontiac. Im sure they will call me back today. If they dont, thats fine too. Either way, i am in no hurry to buy anything. I will be going back to honda today to look at the accords, and then go back over to nissan to look at what they have.

That's becasue fo front wheel drive on the pontiac. It's more of a cruiser than a real fun car. Takes a while for the tires to grip and it could definitely use some better tires. Take a look at some older 2002 accord v6 coupes(not sedans). nice interior, manual, v6, better looking body. Also take a new 2006 accord coupe for a drive too. 244hp, manual, really nice liviability.

You just pwned yourself because all the cars he drove are FWD. Additionally, the '02 V6 coupe does not come with a manual trans.

Another thing that makes the G6 GTP a blast is it's 240 ft. lbs. of torque at 2800rpms.

Most jap cars and other DOHC motors don't make that kind of torque, and if they do it's at much higher RPMs. Look at the Accord EX V6. 244hp @ 6244rpms and 211tq @ 5000rpms. Those car makers put 5 and 6-speed auto trannies to hide the fact that they lack torque at the lower RPMs.

It's apples to oranges.......pushrods to DOHC's. I choose pushrods and 400+ ft. lbs. of torque under 3000rpms.

Just my opinion, FWIW.

OTOH, the G6 gets abysmal gas mileage compared to the accord. Enjoy $70/barrel oil. :beer:

actually, the G6 is very similar in terms of mileage compared to the Accord and in some instances actually beats it. It all depends on what configuration you're talking about.

couple other problems with your statements;

The accord V6 is not DOHC, it's SOHC. The engine is handicapped to using civic DX level of technology on the valvetrain. Against say nissan's VQ, it makes similar power, with a smaller engine and much simpler valvetrain.

http://www.vtec.net/articles/article-image?image=113992/03tovaccord6mtdyno.jpg

The V6 accord power curve is actually quite flat.

The V6 accord is faster than the G6 by pretty much all performance metrics by C&D;

0-60 times, 1/4 mile times
TSX 7.2-15.7@91mph
Accord 5.9-14.5@98mph
Speed 6 5.4-14.0@99mph
G6 6.2-14.9@95mph
Jetta 6.4-15.1@93mph

5-60 times
TSX 8.2
Accord 6.3
Speed 6 6.9
G6 6.5
Jetta 7.2

Even 5-60, a pseudo measure of usable low end torque, the accord is still faster. All while using a ~1 liter smaller engine and getting better gas mileage.

The G6 is the least atrocious american sedan i have driven, but it's still not as good as the accord, sorry.

This thread is 3.9L GTP vs V6 accord, so;

G6

AT: 18/26
MT: 18/29

accord

AT: 20/29
MT: 21/30

Accord wins, sorry.

18/26 is pretty abysmal

gas guzzler tax table

If you do the math, the auto 3.9L G6 sits just outside of being slapped with a $1k gas guzzler tax.

LOL! That means my Legacy barely beats out GG taxes!
