A 1984 Fiero was the first brand new car that I bought. I really liked it and kept it for 4 years.

I traded it in for a larger car not too long after I got married. All in all, it was a decent car for me, I really can't complain about it.

Seriously, conjur, if you ever saw it, mine was the *only* yellow fastback GT in Louisville. :D

LOL, I think someone has watched Back to the Future one too many times.

I remember one of my coworkers used to say that the car would flip if you turned on the (flip-up) headlights at highway speeds. Some of the stupid things people say (not just about Fieros), out of sheer ignorance, is hilarious.

My friend has 2 of them. One he got for $400 and the other for $250. Needless to say they are POSes, but they have potential. The suspension on them is very soft, but they are alright, especially if you swap in a Caddy V8!

Pontiac's answer to the Pinto. Pure garbage.
The Pinto was actually a very good economy car as long as you didn't get rear-ended and exploded. ;)

The Pinto fared better than the Chevy competition in road tests. (Though not in crash tests of course.)

As far as the OP..

Fiero was a good idea, but a crappy execution. The inherit balance is great.. but they had to give it cavalier feel - junky rubber tincan feeling.

You must have been very strong back in the day, as a Fiero weighs around 2800 lbs. That we be 700 pounds for each of you to carry.

Finally sold mine. But not because I didn't like it. I loved it!

Scary fast, handled like it was on rails, and fairly unique on the roads. Not so many of them around anymore.

I say go for it, enjoy it!

I love the feel of mid/rear engine cars, but have never drove a Feiro. I like the looks of the later models.
