I don't think that they will be axeing the Impala platform since they've had a redesign in the works for a while, based on the current (zeta?) platform. However, if they are to resurrect a full-size nameplate, the Caprice is wide-open, and historically v8 rwd. Hell, Holden has been selling one for years after it was killed stateside. Damn nice car.

The RWD Impala was put on hold last year. Besides, the G8 is already on the Zeta platform.

I was bummed when GM canceled the Chevy and Buick Zeta siblings. Bring the RWD Impala program back online and fasttrack the new model for 2012. In the meantime give the G8 a new front clip and call it a Chevy.

Well, I suppose they could bring over the Lumina SS from the middle-east, which is already a LHD Chevy badged version of the Commodore/G8.

I'm never a fan of the silver bar on the emblem on current Chevy's though, not that it matters to me - I already have my G8.

cts-v is a niche car. its not a big money maker. Many would agree that the M3 is more of a pure sports car and MUCH better to drive.

the cobalt is a piece of shit.

the corvette zr-1 is also a niche car that isn't a money maker. its a shame that they had to sacrifice so much interior quality for the car. the corvette's interior is worse than my accord's.

we'll see if GM can compete or not. if they go bankrupt, do you lose?

The new Honda interiors are by far the worst over-styled wtf were they smoking when they designed this way the hell too busy sci-fi interiors as of late. Just about ANYTHING looks nicer.
 
It's kinda awesome because used G8's will probably become cheaper, but it sucks because I would want to trade in my 04 Grand Prix to get one. 🙂
