Doors, Beatles, Led & Pink.

What about the Who. (Before my time, but still ahead of their time)

I guess of the choices, none ...

The Rolling Stones are without question the greatest Rock and Roll band ever. The Beatles would be the greatest Pop band. In reality, both defined their genres (yes, there were bands before in each "category", but not definitive ones.) Note : The Yardbirds, The Who, The Kinks, and Cream also receive high marks in the R&R pioneers category.

The greatest singular musical influence would have to be, hands down, Chuck Berry.

And the most important record of all time would have to be The Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds". It's the first significant example/use of "studio production", and as such was a major influence to the Beatles (Sgt. Pepper's), (The) Pink Floyd, and dozens and dozens of others (YES, Genesis, etc., etc.).

Aerosmith, without a doubt. But second to that would be PF. Last being LedZep because of it's harshness in sound. Doesn't make sense, I know.

Good call, Midnight Rambler. How can you pose a list like this one and NOT include the Stones?

Just to be disagreeable, I will choose Dire Straits. Mark Knopfler is Eric Clapton with a sense of humour.

Man............ its hard to choose from those bands :) But if I had to pick it would probably be the Beatles (although I like them all) :)
