The Beatles ruined the American Music industry as far as I am concerned. Doors the best of the choices.

I'd have to say Floyd cause till this day I don't think anyone has touched what they've done in concert performances

All of the above, but the beatles are definitely at the bottom.

The Beatles are the greatest band in history.

I love all the others (Led Zep 10-disc boxed set... mmmmmmm...) but the Beatles revolutionized pop music.

The Beatles started a new wave of music like America had never seen, so I have to give them the credit for that. But my favorite out of those bands is The Doors. People Are Strange is my favorite, I relate to that song. ;)

All are great bands, but I had to go with Floyd. There music is just too refined and dramatic compared with the others. Although I must say that the Doors probably would have been the better band if they'd have had a longer presence.

Zeppelin will always be my favorite, but I've been on a huge Floyd kick lately.

Other classic rock bands that are sorely missing in the list (off the top of my head): The Stones, Cream/Eric Clapton, David Bowie, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Queen, Rush, Grateful Dead...

To those who responded with Pink Floyd: what do you think of the early stuff? I started listening to Atom Heart Mother and Meddle recently, and they are amazing...Meddle is just so mellow...I love it!

Beatles. Anyone with a good musical background would agree. I am not being brash, I am just speaking the truth. ;)

I spelled them beatles and beetles because honestly I couldn't remember.

And, Sochan, I'll admit I kind of threw the pole together missing some other big names/bands. Sorry! I would say the stones are the most significant one out of your list that I failed to mention...

Early Floyd is funky. I have Atom Heart Mother and I can only imagine what kind of chemical was goin' through their bloodstream at the time...

Gotta be Floyd. I lump Zeppelin in with the Stones. Both are great, but too hyper for me. And I don't think it's too cool to dis The Beatles. Lyrics, Arrangements and even Musicianship was nothing to sneeze at. I'm starting to appreciate George Harrison more now. Hell, even McCartney on bass was good. I heard he just picked it up because they needed a bass player. Very musical quality to it if you listen. From their simplest tunes to the more complex albums Beatles were very good and unique.

But anyway... PINK FLOYD STILL RULES!
