Free money!

Not quite $20 though. That is 2000 pennies, or 10 a day on average. What do you do, walk around for 8 hours a day?

I work for a very large company, there are at least 3 different breakrooms that I frequent for coffee. For some reason people dump their pennies on top of vending machines. I've found as many as 10-15 in one visit. We are 24/7 operation and there appx 6000 employees here.

6000 is nothing. There are 10 times that were I work. So big we have our own food court that can serve just under 10k people an hour.

I probably find on average a nickel every day. Maybe. Soemtimes I find a dolalr and whoop for joy!

60,000 people???!!!! :Q Whoa! Where do you work if you don't mind me asking?

Diamond caves in africa?

no I would not pick up a penny. Nor a dollar. In fact I will not carry a bill smaller than a 50. Everything else I toss to the infidels.

not worth it

figure about 4 seconds to stop, turn, pick up penny, put in pocket and continue walking

4 seconds for 1cent
15 cents per minute
9 bucks an hour

not to mention storage and time used cashing in jugs of pennies

I have a big water jug that I put all my change in. I used to do casino cups. I would get about $50 (various denominations of coins) from one of those. It will take me years to fill the water jug but when I do, it will be quite a bit of cash and I'll use it for something nice.

My ex-gf's dad did this with a big Galliano bottle. It would take him about 4 years to fill it, but he would get hundreds of dollars out of it and buy himself something nice whenever he filled it up.
I want to be like that dude that collected 1 million pennies..

Only with quarters.

😀

I want to be like both of you, only with the new dollar coins 😀

My room mates and classmates at college were very bad with money... they'd get a candy bar from the vending machine for 65 cents and throw the 35 cents in change on a table, or just leave it in the coin return... between my 5 room mates and what I found at the vending machines, I could buy a $1 20 oz. and a 65 cent candy bar every day without using any of my money. Also, we ate Subway a lot, and I kept those Subway stamps, and my room mates would give me their's. I got at least 1 free 6 inch sub every week. Not bad eh? A penny saved is a penny earned, and a free penny is a penny you don't have to save or earn.
