How do you like it?

Personally I think the play is very amateurish and a lot of the stunts the players are pulling look rehearsed.

I think it's called practice?

If you were expecting NFL type play, then you totally got your hopes up.

And please, let the GAME FRIGGIN' END before you make judgments here. I mean, how are you going to judge something that'll go on for several more months, involve lots more teams by watching two teams play for about 20 minutes?

^^^^Use the poll!^^^^

GoldenBear, I wasn't referring to the play, I was referring to the stuff the players are doing. Example, the third or fourth play showed a lineman go off sides and tackle the quarterback. Anyone else notice the quarterbacks line didn't move for a couple seconds? To me that says they were ready for it to happen and didn't react on purpose.

Don't get me wrong I played football all through high school as a center and appreciate that it takes a lot of skill to compete in the NFL.

Notice that its hard to actually pay attention to the game. I don't like the constant micing of players and ongoing interviews. Too much camera movement.:frown:

The director should be shot and the camara men need to go back to CNN for more practice.

The girls are strippers I think. Doesn't make them bad people ;)

XFL is suck!!!

The play is horrible.
Looks somewhat scripted.
Camera angle looks like something a first year cameraman would do.

So far from what I've seen this league isn't even up to the level of arena ball, or the World League. Guess that should be expected since most of these players are NFL wannabes or castoffs. I mean how good can they be if they couldn't even make the roster of an NFL team like San Diego, Cincinnati, or Cleveland?

WTF...The guy breaks a 40 yard run (off a screen actually) where about 3 DBs and LBs miss their tackles and it's like they just won a game in OT. And then the reporter is all over him like he's the super bowl MVP...gimmie a break.

Edit - And now they break to a shot of Stone Cold plugging it and talking trash about the Commissioner of the NFL. LMAO...at them, not with them.

It's the NFL with worse players, horrible camera angles, and bad commentary.

JESUS CHRIST THE GAME HAS GONE ON FOR LESS 40 MINUTES AND PEOPLE ARE PREDICTING ITS DOOM ALREADY?

I really don't think the first NFL game featured guys breaking 20 tackles and making one handed diving catches on every other play.

There's still dozens of games left to be played, a playoff season, and more opportunities for the XFL to better itself. Can we wait til then?

<< Looks somewhat scripted. >>

It's called plays. They practice it, and use it upon gametime.

<< So far from what I've seen this league >>

Which is about two teams for 30 minutes..

<< isn't even up to the level of arena ball, or the World League >>

No one claimed it would be.

<< I mean how good can they be if they couldn't even make the roster of an NFL team like San Diego, Cincinnati, or Cleveland? >>

Yes, anyone who doesn't rank among the top football players in the world playing professional football must automatically suck.

It's great! I don't care if some of these plays are rehearsed on both ends or not (which I doubt they are). How much would you have to pay these guys to take those monster hits? It all seems very natural to me, just a little more adrenaline :)

Yeah, I like it so far. You guys who are saying it's scripted and sh!t are stupid. All of you are trying to compare it to the NFL, which it is NOT. The only thing I don't like about it so far is the main camera angle they are using behind the quarterback. I prefer the traditional side view myself.

And about the thing where they defensive lineman jumping and taking down the quarterback, and someone saying that was scripted or something, get over yourself. Ever hear of first game jitters?? Hell, they are only being watched by millions of players. Most of these guys haven't ever played in front of millions of people, and being that happened on the SECOND play of the game, I call it being a little 'jumpy'. I hope XFL rules all so you bitchers and moaners will quit whining about how bad it is.

No sh!t? Wow Thanks for informing me. By the way, I played football my entire life until a semi smashed into me my senior year and destroyed my left knee thus ending my career. I was even being recruited by several NCAA Division I schools so I think I know a little about football. The XFL is not football, it's a show much like Vince's other "sport"

I like the camera angle that is behind the quaterback and shows what he sees upfield. They should use that in the NFL.

Shiner, so you think they script every play and coordinate 22 men at a time for 3 hours at a time??? I know there's always improvision, but I doubt it when there's that many people involved. I'm sure some of the hits are a little exaggerated, but not much more IMO

I don't think every play is scripted but I do think they have certain penalties and other actions scripted. From what I've seen so far some of the stuff seems pretty rehearsed and not spontaneous at all.

There are a few things I think they planned out to catch some interest, like that blatant hit before the hike during the 1st few mins. Overall I think that it's pretty spontaneous, but I agree that there's some controlled elements.
