well, there's no immediate shortage yet, but if there becomes...
other technologies just aren't good enough yet.
 
use it up quick, force us to go to hydrogen, it's been there for years but the companies just vanish into thin air for some reason 😕
 
The marketplace is by far a more efficient regulator of consumption than any govt. action. Alot of people will be hurting if there is a crisis, car pooling and smaller cars would help a little, but we're all single-passenger SUV driving fools in the US.

I agree. Let the free market work here.

Does gas need to be rationed? In cases of national emergency or actual shortage, maybe. However, I suspect (as always) that current gas prices are a result of oil industry "cartel" behavior.
