I think they should have shown some repect and waited until the Reagans had died. That being said, I wouldn't have watched it anyway.

As much as I dislike "Babs" and her ilk, all these people getting in a tizzy over a movie they have not even seen yet is idiotic. And then CBS pulls it, so basically it's just people saying "you must never air a movie that I don't agree with". If you don't like it, don't watch it.

At least wait until you've seen it and can make a judgement on it before whining........
Please see this thread

I wasn't going to watch it anyway. Reagan is in my personal Top-10 Presidents list, there was no way I was going to watch his legacy get crucified by a pseudo-historical documentary.

They probably were only trying to make Ronald Waxhead seem interesting
Hmmm.. just to clarify, when I said Wax Head I was commenting about his hair not the fact he is suffering from Alzhiemers.

The Democrats in the other thread prefer to call it "historical fiction." Whatever the hell that is......

Considering I'm a registered independent, what the Republicans and Democrats want to call things is no of no concern to me. 🙂

A man who won the cold war, eliminating the constant fear of nuclear annihilation at the hands of the Soviets and possible saving the lives of hundreds of millions of people.
A man who helped bring freedom from dictatorship to the peoples of the U.S.S.R.
A man who was instrumental in bringing freedom and unification to Germany.
A man who's economic policy helped reduce the unemployment rate in the US from 9.5% to 5% in a 6 year period.

i don't get showtime, but i wouldn't watch it anyway, its propaganda from B. Streisand

damn those jew commie pinko bleeding heart tree hugging whiney red bastard media conspiracy gay sympathizing ruskies trying to warp our minds with their facts.

reagan was a saint of a man, even though he was a homophobic nationalist who more than doubled the national debt in 8 years, causing a major stock market crash and sending the country into an economic nose-dive that we then proceeded to blame on george bush sr.

😉

i don't need to watch it, i already hate him enough.

yeah, i'm sure the fall of the USSR had nothing to do with their long-standing infrastructure problems and lack of money and everything to do with Reagan escalating nuclear tension. he didn't "win" anything. the conflict ended in spite of him. you act like something he did caused it to end, but he just happened to be in office when the USSR fell.

your first three "big accomplishments" are all the same thing. your last is a nice way to distract us from the economic carnage he unleashed on our country.

Dumbass, I never claimed Reagan was a saint. I'm neither ignorant of the facts nor do I bury my head in the sand. I would venture to guess that I more well-read on Reagan's administration (and the Presidency in general) than you are. This isn't some sort of fact based documentary that CBS shuffled off to Showtime. This is just a propoganda piece thinly veiled as "based on facts".
