Yeah, brand names:

Sony
Nintendo

Microsoft is not a recognized hardware brand name outside of mice and keyboards.

Most common folk do not relate the Microsoft name to, say consoles, wireless devices, or toaster ovens.

Seeing as how I'm planning on being a programmer, I vote for ease of use to program.
I'd like to see wither Xbox or GameCube win. Somehow Xbox just seems.... cooler to me.

The only Post i see has any merit in here is Ben skywalkers, other than that this thread is so bias and wasted. How many of you doods actually played any console besides the Psx's and the nintendo 64 or the DC? Have any of you ever played Neo Geo jap version, or Super Famicom jap version or Saturn jap version? Those consoles alone make anything american just blow goats. I've been rocking console since the late 80's and i never seen the industry shift like this before. Here's my prophecy on this years whole ordeal.

Sega; made the best move out all the companies listed. They're going to milk the Market by supporting all platforms. If they can sell 75,000 software units for each platform then they control the market so much there rep will grow and companies are going to turn to them as the leader of the game.(no pun intended)Most ppl know that DC was powered by windows CE so from that point you can already guess that MS and Sega are in a good relationship. MS gives Sega WinCE support so most likly Sega returns the Favor by Supporting MS with a libary full of software.

MS'X console(can't call it X-Box until they get permission )will most likely gain ground just by there rep, design and word of mouth from the Gaming community on a whole. Where i work ppl always come by and ask whats the ETA for X-BOX. That right there obivously is saying ppl are taking intreset in it.

Nintendo finnaly gets there lazy arse's up and move from the Cartridge bit. With ATI and Art-x in on the deal then you might have sega possibly providing a few titles in also. One can only imagine How the nintendo fiends are going to react.

I wouldn't be so sure. Wow, the CPU is the fastest MHz, woohoo.....the Gamecube will be as fast if not faster.

Yea, people have heard of Microsoft. In the news about how the government is trying to break them up, etc. The average consumer thinks of Microsoft as this giant evil corporation. They do not like them. They do like Sony. Sony made the Playstation, therefore the Playstation 2 must be good, right? That's what they will think.
