Clear cut party identification.

Perhaps you don't recall any of those recent polls. They've been rather balanced lately.

This forum has always been pretty split, now as far as quality....it is very lacking on the right wing side. The only stronger posters are ones that stick to the tired think tanks scripts from right wing websites, so they don't really count having their material/thoughts handed to them.

Says a lot more about the utter failure of conservative divisive us vs them ideology really. It's all about being alienated from your fellow countrymen. -a losing strategy.

A single man alone has no power and easily manipulated. When people stand together and think for themselves with shared goals, we are unstoppable.

If those of you who are on the fence, don't like either or are considering not voting would vote for a "third party" we would be replacing the duopoly lols.

I vote usually republican but I am not voting for Romney as I can't tell wtf he will do. Probably swing hard left like he did in Mass and when he ran for senate.

I'll vote for Gary Johnson, he was a pretty good Republican Gov. Be better than Romney.

Coming from someone who would make Mussolini blush this is not saying much.

Like you all would even know what the "left" is anyhow, you guys are so ate up by talk radio extremist BS with a axe to grind against half the country that dares not fall for the whole "lets kiss the rich peoples ass" political soap opera. The right wing extremists of America, the newest get rich quick scam. Just stab your countrymen in the back, and add water for a tasty dose of religious douchebaggery, and utter lack of looking out for your own best interests.

Voting for Gary Johnson. I realize he and the Libertarian Party can't win this time around, but that fact is mitigated by the fact that I can't stand either of the guys(and their parties) who can win. I'll at least do my part to make them stronger for future election days.

Voting for Obama because I don't want Bush v. 2.0 Raiders of the Treasury.

Romney's looking at the treasury in the exact same manner he looks at any business he can suck dry for fun and immense profit.

Was considering voting for Gary Johnson, but went with Rocky Anderson instead. They seem very different perhaps, but there aren't any politicians that really match my views.

Rocky is a far better vote than Obama if you line up more on that side. I like Rocky, though I won't vote for him. To much socialism for me.

Not voting for Obama, He's black.

and white...

Someone just told me if you vote Libertarian and if they get 5% of the popular vote then next election they get matching federal funds, and if they get 15% they get a spot in the debates.

So while I was planning on going Romney just so I don't have to vote Obama I am not sure now, Libertarian may be a way for me not to waste my vote. At any rate as 1 of 300+ million voters it really, really sucks that we get to pick from 2 candidates. It's really disgusting this is the best the U.S. can do.

I fell the same and that is why I voted for Gary Johnson in hopes he pulls enough to show the republicans they are doing it wrong. That and if not maybe Libertarian's get 5%+ and help in other ways.

Voted Libertarian with Gary Johnson / Jim Gray in the the general election, Ron Paul in the Republican primary election.

Carroll Quigley, Bill Clinton's mentor and former Georgetown professor, nailed it:
“The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can ‘throw the rascals out’ at any election without leading to any profound or extensive shifts in policy.”

I've started to lean more and more in favor of social programs, but prefer for them to be handled at the local level. Hence why I was swaying back and forth between Anderson and Johnson. In reality, I know it doesn't matter in the short term, as neither will win, so I voted more on the message I wanted to try to send with my one little vote.
