I plan to go there as a freshman next year. People say it's well known all over the world, but I've lived in the area for too long so I don't really know how well known it actually is.
They are known as the Boilermakers because their engineering school is very good, its located in Indiana. Some famous people like Neil Armstrong and a bunch of other astronauts and Orville Redenbacher (the popcorn guy) have graduated from there.

some of the rumors have it that people think purdue is Ivy league, but i never heard of it as that.

not only is the engineering school here good...
Krannert is tops in the business world

LOL.. great school but certainly not Ivy League 🙂

I've been living in West Lafayette, IN for almost 15 years. I've been around Purdue since I remember, so I don't really know how well known it is outside of Indiana.

EDIT: Plus, I remember seeing on Jeopardy (one of teh shows with college students) that a guy didn't know what Purdue was after seeing its maskot. And I've run into a few people in Wisconsin who have never heard of Purdue.

That's cuz they're from Wisconsin. Purdue is a good school with a solid reputation. Top notch engineering school, with up-and-coming departments in biomedical, chemical, and biological engineering.

/awaits for the other parody threads involving who here has heard of Harvard/MIT/(place the school that you got accepted here) threads.
