I prefer the Teletubbies XP UI

It's such a good experience that in 2 days I formated and reloaded W2K.

XP is Windows For Dummies v1.0...

Admit it, how many people saw this thread, were using the new XP Luna interface, but then saw all the "cool" people in this thread who think the new interface sucks, then changed it, and then posted that they use the classic interface. I see 29 people voted they use the XP interface, and not too many have said anything. Come on, if you use it, just say it.

Personally, I use a modified version of the XP Luna silver interface (gasp!). Why? Because I like it, and I'm not ashamed to admit it, and I don't define my manliness by my OS interface. I have made some changes to the default, I have a blue start button instead of green, I use the quick launch bar, I use detail view exclusively for explorer, I have shrunk the minimize, restore, and close buttons down to a really small size, and I use the drop down menu control panel instead of opening it in a new window.

<< Custom (WindowBlinds and the like) >>

Working with XP here at work, I tend to prefer either the classic or a custom view. The XP theme is a pain to navigate simply because I haven't taken the time to play with it all that much.

Get back in the closet, you Luna-using, thumb-sucking, ass-bandit!! 😀

I prefer the old interface. I'm used to it, and it's nice knowing my way around. Aside from having ClearType turned on (very nice it is, BTW) there is no way to tell my XP from 2000 unless you notice the different desktop and taskbar icons. I even set the sounds back to 2000 defaults. I still miss the old IE icon in the upper right of the browser. Oh well.

I like Classic too. I would switch back to win2k, but I like winxp's hardware support and built in DSL software too much. Plus, boot times are better.

I used to use WinXP just because of the built in PPPoE (for DSL). But RASPPPoE works just the same (PPPoE driver for Win9x/me/2000)

Any fool can keep their Desktop clean without needing M$ do it for them. Use the taskbar! Anyway, I like both the XP and Classic look and feel. It depends more on what my desktop picture is. Anyway, I've come around to the XP start menu. (after some tweaking) But all the gimmicks? Menu shadow, Fading menus, Scrolling menus, Balloon Tips, Web views, Opening Explorer in My Docs, etc, etc. All bogus and resource hogging IMHO.

Whatever floats your boat I say.

My biggest complaint about XP is why the hell they can't make network browsing work at any decent speed. (even with all the tweaks) Samba does it fine, why can't they???

at first i thought the new xp theme looked fruity, now that im used to it, i really like it. i love the default background pic, it blends in with the interface so well, gives a sense of calmness, i bet microsoft graphic designers spent hours on perfecting this pic to fit with the new theme.
