Poll: Which WinXP interface is better, Classic or XP?

It seems with every new version of an MS OS I spend more of my initial set up time undoing all the junk they insist on enabling by default. I do not want to view my folders as webpages, I don't want pie charts of my disk space, I don't want my files "grouped", I don't want a new window to open for every folder I choose to look in, I do want to see details for all my files, I know that deleting system files might render my system unbootable but show me them anyway, the list seems to grow with every new release of the OS.

I don't understand why the new interface takes all the icons off the desktop.... but it does make background pictures look cleaner .

The XP interface makes me feel like MS is trying to say to me "you are too stupid to have a real interface and see anything at all other than pretty skies and colors like blue and green." Then again, I am using Windows so maybe they're right.

<< What Linflas said. Animated menus?? Why would you intentionally make your computer feel slower? >>

I like Classic too. I would switch back to win2k, but I like winxp's hardware support and built in DSL software too much. Plus, boot times are better.

XP... you guys got to stop living in the past.

I like the new interface. All your important programs are couple clicks away, you don't need to scroll through the huge program list and your desktop it clean as well! Plus its purty!!

I couldn't agree more.

Hail the OS of customizability which goes by the name of Linux 😉

HAHahaha..
the new xp interface sucks... i like the classic so much better.. i guess its just what i'm used too though.

Custom (but with StyleXP ... I hate WB) ... I hate sticking with defaults.

Currently using the Static theme. Real nice, I tell ya. 😀

I use classic but I turned on the quick launch bar. I put my most commonly used programs down there. And then I redo my start menu into more logical groupings (all game shortcuts into a games folder, the company supplied folders go into storage). Thus, even though I have 100 programs installed, I only have 10 main menu groupings. Trust me, it makes life much easier than anything MS can come up with it.

Basically, I don't like XP how it holds my hand thru everything.

My my, quoting linflas is popular 🙂
But he got it right. Everytime a new OS comes out more and more time is spent on turning off all those 'helpful' features which do nothing more than slow you down.

classic. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but when I start doing some heavy graphic work with that fisher price windows interface my computer starts to lag out. (I'm talking between photoshop, imageready and dreamweaver, yea there are other programs running in the backround but those are the main ones.) With classic it seems that windows itself takes much less of the systems resouces to run. My 2cents tho.
