POLL: Which new 2004 truck to buy?

I like the Ford F250 Crew Cab but I don't need a truck that big. If I did, that is what I would buy though.

A friend of mine has an '04 F150 Super Crew. Nice truck but I prefer the Tundra Double Cab which is actually larger.

I'd buy what people drive, the F150. While it may be a nice truck, repairs and parts for the Titan are gonna cost a HELL of a lot more than they will for an F150. And Ford has really mastered building this truck, with the hundreds of thousands they sell each year, and the mass quantities, all the kinks get ironed out. With the Titan, there's just a lot more ?'s.

Non-current:
71' 1 ton Dodge Van
79' 3/4 ton Dodge Van
85' Ford Ranger
89' Ford Ranger
91' Ford Ranger

Current:

95' G20 Diesel Chevy Van
03' Ford F150

I've driven a few trucks.. not any of the ones listed, but a few trucks
I've driven:

97 RAM 1500 (5.2L) auto
03 RAM 1500 HEMI auto
00 Sierra 1500 (diesel) auto
97 Dakota 5.2L 5 speed manual
02 Dakota 4.7L 5 speed auto (IIRC)
94 S-10 4.3L auto

Obviously my favorite truck was the 03 RAM 1500.. but I really liked the 02 Dak.. the 4.7 is really nice, and it's a great sized truck.. I really just love the Dakotas..
but it's not practical for massive payload. it's perfect for a person like me who doesn't ever TOW anything, just using the bed from time to time.. but if you tow, get a full size for sure (which i guess is why you have those particular trucks in your poll already 😛)

C&D couldn't find a hood release if you painted it florescant orange and even if they did find it they wouldn't know how to use it, I wouldn't trust them for $h!t

Voted Titan.

Chevy is out of the question because GM can lick my balls. (I'll refrain from posting my reasons ad nauseum)
Ford F150 is nice but IMO, but the Titan has it outclassed.

I have a Tundra but even though I love it to death, its a bit on the smaller side compared to the two.
My GM has over 70K miles with a blower on it and lots of towing miles, my Ex's father had a Tundra that's valves were already shot by 45K miles,m smoked like a turkey and was gutless under 3K RPM in comparison to every full size I have ever had. Watching him pull 2 stumps in his yard was a riot. I wouldn't touch a Turdra with a 10 footer

Bah, I had a 2000 Tundra and it had 43k miles on it when I got rid of it last April (due to increasing family and small uncomfortable back seat in Access Cab models) and it ran perfect.

Tundra is a great truck. I would and probably will buy another one.

No you don't. Not anymore.

The TITAN is designed, engineered, and completely built in America.

So is the Tundra actually. I thought you meant American makes (Ford, Chevy, Dodge).😀

I'm a tall and big guy.

So I think I will need to sit in the new F150s and Titans and see which one has more interior room for comparable styles.

I'm partial to Ford over Nissan.....but if the Titan has more room...I will have to seriously consider it and will probably buy it.

My choice would be Titan, then F150. Of course, if you are bigger and cab space is an issue, IIRC the F150 is probably better in that dept.

I just checked the numbers, F150 has a slight advantage over the Titan in Front and rear shoulder room and front and rear hip room. So, if you're a big fat slob you would probably be more comfortable in the Ford. I've driven the F150, Titan and Tundra. They were all plenty comfy inside for me. I'm 5'11" and 185lbs.

Ford also boasts the least powerful standard engine unless you opt for the more expensive 5.8l engine. On paper the Titan is the leader of all the trucks mentioned and it has the highest towing capability and highest HP and torque. The F150 and Tundra tie for second and the Chevy comes in last (even with the 5.3l engine which is standard in the crew cab model).

Save the Titan, yes you do.

BTW, it's not a stretch to say the Titan *IS* american 😉

guess I'll have to go visit a lot on a Sunday without the sharks and see whats going on under that thing.

Whats that to say for the rest of the drivetrain?
Not much at all since it hasn't even had a chance to prove itself worthy. I love how everyone jumps on the Titan bandwagon because Japanese companies "do everything right the first time", so they assume this truck will be built like a real truck (i.e, American Trucks) off the bat. I'm not saying that the Titan is weak or anything, but it's so far from proving itself that no one can say much about it yet. Ford, Chevy, and even Dodge is building a good name for the Rams, these are all proven vehicles, give the Titan some time.
