Nissan Titan. It's only real competitor is the new F-150. Those two put the rest of the trucks in their class to shame. Drive them both and pick the one you like best :)

Titan added.

I'm sticking to a particular range of prices.

EDIT: I deleted RAM.....no way I would buy Dodge.

Ah, OK. Then I would probably say either the Ford or Chevy.

I used to work at a place where they built transmissions that went into Dodge trucks.

No way I would buy a Dodge truck.

Bad taste in my mouth.

I have this rule, never buy the first production year model of anyone's manufacturer.

Auto buyers are beta testers, and they're are typically a few tweaks the manufacturer's make after the first production/year run.

I'd buy a Ford or a Titan next year. Personally I'd get the Ford, but the titans look & have been reviewing great.

Toyota's next full size should kick ass too.

I have driven both the new Tundra Double Cab and the Nissan Titan Crew Cab models. I also owned a 2000 Tundra for a 2.5 years but traded it in on my current car (Nissan Maxima) last April.

I like the Tundra DC quite a bit. The Titan felt smaller inside than the Tundra and the seats in the Tundra were more comfortable. I don't care for the fabric Nissan chose for the Titan and the interior of that truck seems too busy to me.

The Titan definitely has the more powerful engine and greater towing capabilities than the Tundra but due to the extra weight of the Titan it didn't feel any faster to me.

I'm also not a fan of the short bed on the Crew Cab Titan but this isn't really a huge issue.

I am probably going to buy one of these vehicles in the next 6-8 months and plan on driving 4x4 models of both again (Tundra model I drove was a 4x4 but the Titan was a 4x2). I expect that the Titan 4x4 would ride a little firmer than the 2WD model.

I'm also kind of gun shy when it comes to first year model vehicles. Based on this alone, I would pick the Tundra.

I'll never buy a Dodge truck or a Chevy truck so those are immediately excluded from my list. I won't even test drive one because they aren't built to last. I want a vehicle I can drive for 5-6 years and 100k+ miles with no major problems.

A lot of the concern with new models is mainly that the engine and drivetrain may not be up to par, but the Nissan V8 has been around, versions of it are in the FX45 and the Q45.

Chevy/Ford/Dodge>>>Titan, etc

I've never seen a drag racer pulling an enclosed trailer with some foreign wanna be truck. They just don't have the power or the towing capacity thus they are not real trucks.

A redneck will never drive one either because we can't do exhaust mods on it to make it sound good because the motor is like a sewing machine and will not sound good.

That said, I'd go with Chevy for sure!

You have to admit, at an MSRP of 23k and an invoice of just over 20k, the King Cab Titan is an excellent deal. If you don't need 4WD it's a bargain. I was looking into compact pickups but the "base" titan offers much, much more for the $$.

The only reason I bought a GMC truck (Chevy Silverado clone) is so I could pretend to be a redneck.

Otherwise I would go with the Titan. I am sure the fuel economy must be better (I get 13/mpg on my 6.0L)

Get the Silverado - my folks had one for a while and it was quite nice. Decently roomy for a truck, built like a rock (no pun intended), and hauled some major ass.
