Was cleanin the guns today and got to thinking about that. While the semi-auto is alot of fun to shoot, theres something about lever actions I just really like.
So, which do you prefer?

"Which action type do you prefer on your rifles?"

The action of killing other organisms that our Lord blessed with life.

J/k, bolt action just feels good.

I got a pump remington .270, 8700 model I think. It's a light gun and easy to hunt with, but I prefer bolt for accuracy shooting.

Rifles - Bolt action...

Shot Gun - Semi-Auto

Pistol - Semi-Auto

Black Powder - Inline! 😉 Most won't know that one!

I prefer bolt, myself. Stronger action means that I can load a hotter round for it if I want. Also, it's cheaper, quieter (no rattles like semiauto or lever- those big deer ears aren't there for fashion) and I'm happier NOT having a secon round to pop off in a hurry if I miss Bambi the first time. It removes the temptation to play Pulp Fiction.

I agree with all 4. (I don't own a pistol though)
If you use them enough, reloading is so second nature that you don't even realize you're doing it.

The last time i shot a couple hundred rounds from my lever actin 30-30 i had a blister across my fingers. I prefer semi-auto.

For serious shooting, anything other than a bolt action is unacceptable.

Depends on what you mean by serious shooting. I think that shooting at people that are shooting back is a bit more serious than playing "how close together can I make the holes" at 500 yards. And in that case and all other things being equal, of the given choices, I want a semi auto.

Bolt action is fun. It makes you think about your shooting a little more, because you know you have to work the bolt to get your next shot. I almost voted bolt action, but lever action is a lot of fun for a day of plinking, and so it got the nod. But if I need a "serious" rifle, it's going to be semi auto (unless I can afford an NFA firearm).
