Shorts and flip flops. But I've walked in on guys not wearing shirts. I decided to ask them whatever I had planned to ask them later.

Most people here wear jeans + tshirt or jeans + polo. A lot of us younger guys will wear shorts though, and no one cares.

i wear jeans and t-shirts every day.

no way would i even consider wearing nice clothes here, especially if i have to work on the equipment. everything in the factory is covered in balck dust or mouse turds. hell, even a lot of the stuff in the regular offices is covered in black dust.

That's not business casual.

Since I work in a medical field, I wear my "work pajamas" otherwise know as scrubs to work.

That's not business casual.

it actually is, just the far end of it

jeans are rarely acceptable in workplaces as part of business casual attire, but some Silicon Valley entrepreneurs such as Steve Jobs are known to wear jeans as part of the business casual look.[citation needed] In academic and research settings, however, jeans may be worn with a dress shirt. The second from the top button may also be opened in addition to the very top button.......

Software, Internet and some high tech companies accept blue jeans and a collared shirt as business casual.

Polo style shirt and either khaki pants or cargo shorts. I wear cargo short year round. They are more confortable and I dont have to iron them:D

Business casual - Typically I'll wear dress pants and a polo or dress shirt. Fridays are "Jeans" day. I wear a tie when board members are present. :) However it seems that our building is split because the "blue collar" workers in our Land department seem to get away with jeans any day, while the Finance, Administration, and IT are stuck with business casual 4 days a week. Meh.

Unemployed now, but past job was business casual. There was no real policing (just np T&A but that didn't stop a spervisor or two), but it feels look to dress up. When you're commuting, don't you compare outfits with people on the subway;)?

First place required shirt and tie. Next was pretty casual. Now, I'm stuck with business casual.

Its relaxed business casual....I tried wearing a tie once to work and everyone was asking me why I was interviewing elsewhere! I try to dress nice though and stick more to the business casual look...gets more respect!

Having worked construction nearly all my life, it was usually t-shirts, jeans and work boots. On Fridays, many of the crews I worked with had their version of "casual Friday" where we all wore brightly colored Aloha shirts to work. It seemed to happen that on those Fridays, I'd drag up, (quit the job) so for several years, I ONLY wore an aloha shirt on the days when I planned to quit...(aloha also means good-bye) Now that I'm going to college full-time, I wear a brightly colored Aloha shirt on Fridays again.

Do any of you who work in a business environment have casual Fridays anymore? Would an Aloha shirt be acceptable on those days or are they "too casual?"

Business casual. I always wear a dress shirt and slacks (as do most people). Some people wear polos and I will if it's a laid back day. I never wear a tie though, only at company functions or big meetings.

Pretty much whatever. Some people really over dress and some people way under. Nobody really cares. Usually on a customer or supplier visit, most everyone will dress at least fairly respectable.

Business casual, I would give so much to wear jeans and tshirts or whatever I wanted everyday. I seriously would be willing to take a several thousand dollar pay cut to dress casual.
