Would give again?

Unfortunately, although I'm an O- (universal donor), I am scared of giving blood. I'm not too squeamish around needles but I heard they have to prick your finger first. I can't STAND that and I will put forth every effort to avoid it if possible. Also when I was in high school, a lot of students gave blood and a lot of them had to get jabbed many times over because they couldn't find the vein or something. That also turns me off.

I guess I'd give blood if they were able to test my blood without jabbing my finger and if they could hit the vein the first time. If they can't hit it I'd want to just get up and leave and be like "you had your chance, sorry."

I feel bad about it since I have the most useful blood but it just creeps me out too much.

Gave blood a couple months ago at a HS blood drive, gotta say they've been good about getting the needle right the first time and TBH the finger prick made me laugh, it felt sharp but it was super-quick (which was somehow humorous at the time).

A- though my card actually says A RH negative. I was told it's a super rare one. When I decided to donate for the first time they were like OMGRARETYPE!!1!!!!1one. Now they call me every 2 months or so.

Not as rare as you might think. I'll give you a call if I have an accident.

I'm B+ as is my husband and, thankfully for the sake of my marriage, so are both my children.

You could legitimately have an O Positive/Negative child depending on your genotype despite being phenotypically both B+.

Yeah. That's the boat that I'm in too. My daughter is only 2 months old, so I'm not going to have a needle stuck in her to settle my curiosity, though. She's either B or O
