Best OS in far of software/crash relation.. Windows 2000 no question.

Best OS overall, and if it had more software: BeOS by FAR.

Digital Research DOS 6.0 (DR. DOS 6.0). Could multi-task from the dos prompt and it would make any windows operation system jealous, and this was in the late 80's. I really liked it!!!:)

Red ,

I dont think either OS is better.

It all depends on what your needs are.

For a gamer 98SE would be the best choice.

For the apps Win2k is definately the best, also after trying out whistler for a short while i think it will be the OS that bridges the gap between 98 & 2000.

To each his own i guess.

I was dual booting with Win2000 & 98se for a while because i am a gamer & love to host Rogue spear games from time to time.

And after a while i realised all the stuff i was doing in win2000 i could do in 98se very nicely.

So it was no sence keeping 2 operating systems around when 1 would do,that's why i dropped win2k.

But that's my peticular needs, like I said to each his own.

What's right for me might not be right for a non gamer.

If i would loose interest in games too Win2000 would be my 1rst choice.

BeOS. Beautiful. Fast. Elegant.

now if only Nvidia would supply specs to Be so they could get some good divers written for thier chipsets. BeOS is so amazing tho. I really hope that it succeeds since it is truly an advance.

Maybe its becuase the best system I've used has been teh win2k system currenytly. Actually stayed on the technology curve.
(I got a 486 sx2/50 when P150s were top of the line) GO no math co-processor!

I like win2k. Like hte multitasking ability I get. Hmm Bp6.. Hmm

I voted Linux.

I have always wanted to try out BeOS, but never really got around to it. Can one of you PM me a link to some info about it? Thanks.
